:O :O :) :) :)
Wahoooo got through interview (eventually) and now awaiting sim check. Any advice on how to pass it this time. What were your experinces etc etc. Cheers GTN |
Before the Sim had a go in a B727 sim down in bournemouth. The sim is basically a CRM exercise but I chose to have a go in an older jet to try and free up some capacity and help the confidence levels.
If you want to have a go in the sim then contact Mike Boulton (07799 887274) and he will be able to help. It worked for me. Best of luck |
If it is at Cranebank then perhaps a recent attendee can confirm which sim the check takes place on. At times they have been using the Bac 1-11 which most of you youngsters have in some cases never heard off?

Did the 727 last year and must admit i dont think it helped me. According to my BA debrief the flying was fine for which i did a lot of raw data flying on line. It was two other areas critical to BA that i made errors on, simple things but important to them. The 727 sim is brilliant but it was done as single crew and the emphasis was on the flying and not the two crew aspect. If you do it which i would still recommend for some try and do it with another BA hopeful and concentrate on the two crew thing with an eye on the flying. Good luck to one and all:) |
Of course they are looking for more than just the flying. Nobody can fly the 1-11 perfectly. It's more than a handfull. Of course have an idea of how to enter and fly a hold and intercept and track a radial (basic IF stuff) but what they are looking for is captaincy (don't know if that's a word). Communicate with each other. It's hard enough to fly the thing so use the other person in your decision making. Basically, good CRM is a must.
Good luck and also try to enjoy the experience because you don't get to fly the 1-11 every day (thank God) ;) |
