Starting a course 3rd Jan (non type rated LHS) and the letter I got states that a hotel room is paid for on a room only basis. This is fine as far as I am concerned...but I didn't have to do any negotiation, as someone implied, it was not even discussed.
Things move fast in GSM and the recruitment team are not always given three months notice if a late / dynamic commercial opportunity comes up. It is better to accept the challenge and try and crew it at short notice rather than turn work away I guess.
I was given just under ten weeks notice but my company were able to live with that (didn't think they would but asked the question and was pleasantly surprised).

Ha, got a call yesterday from my Flight Crew Manager telling me I'd be starting my LHS course in Jan. Literally 5 mins later got a call from Globers asking me to start in Jan. Now that might have been a tricky decision had they given me more time, but there is no way I can only give 4 weeks notice.
They may very well like flexibility, but surely they understand that most companies want 12weeks.

Seems Globespan took some offence and my previous post.:hmm:

Called me again, had a dig, then hung up.

It seems Jock.....they helped you make your mind up:ok: As usual, companies forget that we are human beings with obligations and responsibilities:=

Just out of interest, was it the company who called..or the agency who were having a go?

The company

Jockflyer, amazed they have time to monitor PPRune and then actually call you! Judging by the "meltdown" thread your probably best out of it.

Good luck with the Command course.
