Hi RMC...
Frankly the database of airports and routes they use is fairly large... and in any case if I was to quote a route ... you can bet your bottom dollar that it wouldn't be the one that you get..!!! There is plenty of time to review the route and airport(s)... and I can tell you that this is not a "trapping" exercise... you are given all the info you need.. (power settings... pitch angles etc..etc..)... and the GECAT guys are very fair in this regard...... just know your stuff... solid raw data flying, and remember daft little things like correct holding & entry procedures ....after T/O checks... descent/approach checks... in the right sequence...recall checklists... QRH checklists..etc..etc.. Aslo remeber the PNF will execute the checklists on your instruction.... the key is to know which checks to call for...and when...... Good Luck...:ok: |
Flyglobespan recruitment for Liverpool
Flyglobespan's website is now only showing the Liverpool - Tenerife flight. If the Liverpool - Prauge has been put on hold is this going to alter the recruitment situation?
|

If you have TP hours then you don't need to get your cheque book out, only if you have low hours and piston time, so your not 100% correct. As for 'DON'T' tell us more? |
Touch&go
By don't, I refer to my view that we shouldn't pay for type ratings or line training. If that doesn't happen at Globespan then I stand corrected. In fact, I might be interested myself. |
I think you have to pay £15,000 for your type rating if you don't have one. If someone else knows otherwise please do tell.
|
Good luck endofeng, I shall be in touch soon! :ok:
|
Howdy Jinkster, speak soon.....
I've just heard that they have a full compliment of Pilots until spring 2007. I'll apply again then! Good Luck to all......... ------------------ endofeng:ok: |

Good Luck to all......... ------------------ endofeng:ok: Well I know that they are still looking for 737 & 767 Captains as their agency (Wynnwith) called me. They are recruiting the 737 for the GLA/EDI dual base and MAN/LPL dual base for the 767. |
Not sure about the Prauge going RMC but I hope to be on the 737 at LPL early next year. In answer to your other question I think £5000 for three years is the answer.

Flyglobespan holdpool
Anyone in it? I've not been swimming that long but just wondered just how many of us in it? Any gossip?
|
I've been in it since June. Was told at the interview and subsequent email confirmation that I would have a date by the end of the following month. Still waiting. I suspect that since they are binning a few of the routes, Glasgow-Vegas, Glasgow- Barbados Etc, that they no longer need as many pilots as they first thought. This is just my opinion, and not based on anything solid.

pool
Jockflyer,
Were you put in the pool for the 757/767 then? They interviewed for the 737 hold pool in November as far as i know and pos. more now, for a spring start. The last I heard was that there are at least 8 in the pool for the 737. Cheers AC |
737. Wrote to the on Friday, and explained that my current company have approached me for Capt, and that if they weren't able to give me an indication of a start date, then I would stay with my present company. As yet no reply, but then it was only Friday.
My mate, who was interviewed immediately before me, started last week. One of my colleagues is starting in Jan. Spoke to Sam Quigley last month, but he couldn't give any indication then. Its little disconcerting. The initial excitement of being offered the job has certainly passed, and is now turning to frustration. |
I know what you mean, but just hang in there if you can, Sam seems a nice guy and I'm sure your next on the list!
He did say that experience was first on the list and those with the most go first! Let me know what happens. He also indicated to me that he would be surprised if we were in the pool later than March due to their spring expansion. Cheers AC :ok: |

Hi Aircart, when did he indicate this? :ok: |

Cheers AC :ok: Like most airlines, they will probably ask us to start at short notice, but I for one will not be ale to do this. I've already asked if I could leave early when they were looking for people to start in Jan. It would make Xmas nice if you got a call in the next couple of weeks. However, I have heard that some people are being asked to pay for there own accomodation at Gatwick while doing the TR. Seems you need to cut your own deal though, as thats not across the board. These are not things that endear me to them. |
Jockflyer,
Well what can I say, thats the deal and you have to make your choice if you want to work for them. Globespan seem to like flexability and that might mean short notice! Very typical of a low cost airline. I am fortunate to be able to leave with no notice but I can sympathise with your situation. Sawotanao, I was told that at the Interview. ps. check your mail. Cheers AC |
