Tee hee hee! I know! One of my friends has already benefitted from the mess, and was given nearly double the leave he had left to use at no extra cost to him...... Nice to know the foul ups work in the Pilots favour sometimes.

Sorry to disappoint you all but i can confirm that x-centric is indeed a stn based fr line pilot , he's a good guy who tells it as he sees it and has been around long enough to spot rubbish , whether that be companies or posts on here!

camoisine - there is always a cost.maybe not directly but indirectly.he will lose out on sector pay while some other pleb will be flown to death.tell him to hand back the leave and see what happens.i believe dob is hiding the fact that all the pilots are out of hours from mol by allocating a/l to the roster.keep the master blind.

x-centric - i am afraid that you are wrong on a number of issues,the company is trying to get and putting experienced new joiners on half sector pay.
what you say about take home pay is great until you look at the big picture and realise that you have no insurance and no pension.your take home can be withdrawn or reduced at mols discretion.a crew or ops controller,anybody in the company can !!!! on you and you have to take it because we get such a great take home pay.hmmmm!

rentaghost your colleague X-centric may have been but he seems to know remarkably little about the terms and conditions of his fellow Ryanair pilots. He may even consider the conditions of Ryanair pilots at other bases not to count when he talks about "his Ryanair". But that does not entitle him to make the type of bare faced assertions he made or, in a very Ryanair-like way, to quibble over the blindingly reality about leave availability and Crewdock.

I have no reason to suspect your motives for posting here on his behalf (he may well be on his holidays). However, there is a trend here on pprune regarding Ryanair that you may not have noticed. A large percentage of "Ryanair line pilots" posting here to challenge what is said turn out to be remarkably unwilling - even when presented documentary evidence - to utter the slightest criticism of Ryanair. They either disappear, or ignore / dodge the challenge. If X-centric acknowledges that Crewdock has been unavailable for the booking of leave for Jan-March that would be a fair start. He would only be acknowledging what we all now know to be true.

Ryanair watchers and apologists should look closely at the instructive development and conclusion of this thread. It might help others understand the current "hot" thread on the incident in Rome. On that thread the only information available comes from Ryanair, and a number of posters sympathetic to Ryanair have commented in a supporting role about the new "caring Ryanair".

Is the "news management" side of these matters not becoming rather obvious? I think it is easier to comment on such matters here because we have two colleages about whom no reasonable person would wish to comment or speculate without knowing all the facts (which we simply don't have). But the story on Rome is clearly being "spun". What we don't know is what it is Ryanair may be avoiding or possibly even hiding by omission.

So, again, back to the mundane issue of leave availability ... blatent denials in the face of obvious facts. And not by any means the first time. Instructive ... or not?

Shocking number of flight cancellations now - clearly as a result of the Boeing strike, which has amazingly left us with a surplus of aircraft..... :hmm:
