rentaghost, I have some evidence to the contrary. But that is for another time. Interesting coincidence that you have personal knowledge of the real names of two anonymous posters here who have a certain outlook on life.

Joey was a hero. I even have Joey Deacon racing on my PC somewhere :E |

I stand corrected. The Electra that almost landed wheels up, went around taking out several prop blades, streaming oil losing an engine or two did land safely.
It was not technically being operated by Channel, the crew were actually being employed to train Chanex pilots when the Electra was being introduced into service. Hope that puts the record straight!;) |
rentaghost, since you seem to be into the "outing business" can you just confirm before this goes any further that you are not X-centric or pulp fiction?

What an incredible thread.
It starts out as a genuine enquiry regarding the 757 operation and look where it’s gone. As a casual, but highly entertained observer I cannot remember reading a more hilarious thread. Seems we have a training department fighting the crews, the training department fighting the trainers, the crews fighting each other and the ex crews fighting almost everyone else. The flight deck atmosphere on these Jet2 aircraft must be a sight worth seeing. “Who are you, Noddy, no Trip switch. Shut you pulp fiction ******* etc,etc…..” I can just imagine it now!!!! Absolutely brilliant lads, enjoy your operation while it lasts, it certainly has to be unique. Long may this thread last! :) :) :) |
So, just to change tack a wee bit. Anyone know when the next two B757's are due?
|
Entertaining maybe ...
Astounding how childish our profession can get ... Disappointing that 2engop has had his thread hijacked by the same few that feel they must continue to anonymously attack Jet2, and on occasion their former colleagues on a public forum. Funny that they seemed so friendly to them when face to face in the crew room  Surely time to move on and be happy, as I am sure you are :O Yacht Man - On the line there are a great bunch of crews here that are a pleasure to work with. I have yet to see a post from a current employee that supports the negative views. Most don't bother posting as it's just asking to be attacked by the same individuals that make a habit of it, as I probably will be for this post. :ouch: |
Except for me of course! I’m still here.
Not because I’m Cr#p or bonded or can't pass an assessment with any other airline I hope! I’m just to old to be bothered with yet another company’s course. I’ve seen the best of this industry and those days are definitely gone. I am a little sad that I will see out my career out in a shambolic, under funded, badly managed, under maintained here today gone tomorrow outfit. I also don’t really think you can tell who people are on these threads. Its so easy to manipulate and tailor posts so as to subtly pretend to be another. If I said I hadn’t been to the gym for twenty years, didn’t have a telly and hate helicopter instructors you might automatically think you knew who I was! You would be wrong. I will not out anybody because it would be too easy to get it wrong. Old Sufi saying I learnt many many years ago, if you seek Him you shall never find Him. If you do not seek Him, He will never reveal Himself to you. Just hope I get to top up the pension before old Jet2 becomes jet gone!! Ps… anyone seen Frank? |
OK ... I stand corrected .... except you Sub Rosa.
There are a few that haven't been to the gym for 20 years but they all have telly's! Your cover is safe :ok: Enough fun here .... I'm off to the pub. |
I listened to a Jet2 757 coming out of tfs yesterday. The pnf twice asked for the santa maria hf freqs despite being told by the atco to standby. It is all in the aerad supps or on the jepp Natlantic chart if you care to look.By the way he gave you the wrong freqs but you probably worked that out.:ok:
|
Thanks rentaghost, I wasn't going to bother to issue any denials of being the one & the same X-Centric because it wasn't even worth it & I thought that my denial would add to the flames. Let them have their fun.
With regards to Trip Switch, I find it very worrying for Jet2 but, alas, par for the course that he can issue the following post: As regards Pulp Fiction - Ryanair Pilot shortage hits crisis Point? Page 2 is very funny. The posting at the top of page 3 might be of particular interest (last line - although most had worked it out a long time ago). Now, if you know who X-Centric is...... (believe me, I do). Bit of a shame though. I was really enjoying watching him imagine that he had ANYONE fooled. He says he "knows" who Pulp Fiction & X-Centric are & yet he has jumped to the wrong conclusion. I hope that his command decisions are based on better analysis. Then again he would have to put down his sudoku puzzle & focus on the job in hand a bit more. rentaghost, I have some evidence to the contrary. But that is for another time. Interesting coincidence that you have personal knowledge of the real names of two anonymous posters here who have a certain outlook on life. 2engop, here's why you shouldn't join Channex. Low standards. Too many inexperienced captains. Poor conditions. People promoted on suck-up-ability rather than ability. Witholding of references when you leave them. Threats. Management making promises of base changes that they will never honour. The strangest SOPs in the industry. A total lack of regard for you as a person. In short, go elsewhere if you have a choice.:ok: Rentaghost, check your pm. |
Yacht Man,
You say: "The flight deck atmosphere on these Jet2 aircraft must be a sight worth seeing." In fact, after many years of flying including "reputable operators", I've found Jet2 to have the best on-board atmosphere yet - absolutely zero us-and-them with the cabin crew, pilots working well together to optimise safety and follow SOPs, a no-blame culture and no more than reasonable pressure from management. Also, there is virtually no in-flight moaning and whingeing - just how many "reputable operators" can claim that? Let's settle this APU thing once and for all. Yes we do have guidelines to minimise APU usage, but the crew have total discretion to use the APU for heating or cooling whenever they feel it appropriate. If ever you get on a Jet2 aircraft that's too hot or too cold, blame the crew and not Company policy. |
cornwallis
You assume the aerad supplement or jepp north atlantic charts were on board |

Firstly, I would like to thank you for your very public 'outing' of who I am in your first post. You obviously feel that I deserve it and that you should be the person to do so. Forgive me if I do not, but that's all a bit academic now. Having been outed, I feel it only fair to put things as I see them. Pulp Fiction May I begin by reminding you of his post of 30th December 2005: Here's a tip for anyone wanting to get on up the ladder with Channex: camp in Unilever's back garden. Then you too can gain fast track promotion, sit in the left hand seat & 'play' at Sudoku for your living. As to whether or not he is the same person as X-Centric, that is for others to make up their own minds, by simply comparing posts both here and on the "Honest and Uncensored...." thread. If they are different people and I were X-Centric, I would consider suing for breach of copyright or plagiarism. Example: Posted by X-Centric 31st Aug 2005: How about three of our very good FOs warning the company that one of the MAN based contract Captains was a dangerous operator & something needed to be done? (Full credit here must go to a training captain who took the problem seriously & tried to deal with the situation only to be basically humiliated & over ridden in his decision making by the management.) They moved this guy to LBA, as we all know a far more technical airfield, & what happened? On his first day the FO refused to fly with him ever again & on his second day he nearly went off the end of the runway. Only then did Channex dismiss him. He nearly had to crash the bloody thing before they would take any action! As an airline you were warned about the dangerous flying of a German contract Captain by at least three First Officers at MAN. Again, a very worthy Captain, who has since left Channex (hey, what a surprise) tried to do something about the situation but was humiliated & over ruled by R.B. They moved the rogue skipper to LBA & what happened? First day the F/O refuses to fly with him again because the Captain is so p!ss poor, second day he nearly goes off the end of the runway. Only then do Channex take action! X-Centric I do indeed know who X-Centric is, as he indeed knows I am (as does everybody else now. Again, thankyou). It was his choice to reveal his pprune identity to me. You may notice that I have never posted anything that would even remotely identify him (whether or not I think he and Pulp Fiction are one and the same), and nor will I. Ever. A common respect not shown to all, it would seem. I may not agree with the things he says, but you may also notice that on this thread, nor have I replied to any of his posts. Again, everybody is entitled to their opinions. But then again 'X-Centric' didn't feel the need to launch into unprovoked, personal attacks. Certainly not on me anyway. I would like to clarify, I am not picking a fight with you, and I apologise if you think I have been or am being unfair. It is very noble that you have leapt to Pulp's defence, however, looking back objectively over his posts, are you really that surprised that anyone should have felt offended by him? With kindest regards Trips p.s. I have absolutely no doubt that I shall now be insulted, mocked and generally shot down in flames. So be it. I shall not bother you any more. |
Cornwallis,
Haven't you ever asked Miami VHF for New York's HF frequencies to save yourself the hassle of wading through your best guesses and getting no answer? The list may well be published, but it's much easier if you know which freqs they are actually using that day. Canaries/Santa Maria is no different. bat.man, I don't think that Jet2's B737's are doing Tango routes yet, so it was probably at B757 - in which case any lack of flight deck paperwork is down to Titan, the AOC holder as at 18th January. |
No, no pilothouse.
This thread is all about kicking Jet2, regardless of the facts. And the fact that is might not be Jet2's library on board shouldn't be allowed to spoil the fun. The fact is that it might not have been their pilots either, but who cares, chill out and join the fun! :) |
Never asked miami as i go up and down there so often i know them.It was a 757 on a tang(16).It doesnt take much effort to work out what freq to use.The crew were given the wrong ones by the atco anyway!:}
|
Done the Tango routes to TFS and never needed HF freqs. Even done it in a Jet2 73/3 recently. Used to be a regular trip from Man in a 300.
|
Cornwallis
These routes have 5 or 6 Frequencies that could be used, why not ask ATC which one is in use rather than making 2 or 3 calls on each, hoping you've got the correct one.:ugh: Oh and by the way all the aircraft have the correct charts in them! But thanks for your concern. :E :ok: |
There was a massive French naval exercise in progress in the Biscay area extending out to sea some what, we got routed to LND from Gatwick before Marak and Santander, I wonder is this had any effect on the routing and hence the call for HF frequencies:)
No im not a JET2 jockey here |
I asked the thread to be moved to JetBlast but by saying a not so nice word the post was edited not the thread...... As many people have said before. Channex / Jet2 might not be your cup of tea for all sort of reasons but the people who work there and I worked with are a great bunch of profesionals!
A petty that Pulp F*ction get an airing that is so obvious a personal crunch (for what ever reason) that he is unable to make any other posts than negative ones about Jet2.... |
SilverHawk.
You say you dont use HF on Tango routes. Do you ever use T16? If so, who do you talk to? |

Thanks rentaghost, I wasn't going to bother to issue any denials of being the one & the same X-Centric because it wasn't even worth it & I thought that my denial would add to the flames. The person doing the denying rentaghost, so graciously thanked by Pulp Fiction, becomes an immediate suspect. However, he has made a clear denial. This is intriguing. He or she has either uttered an inaccurate statement, or is genuinely misinformed or is being manipulated. All very interesting. Any comments rentaghost? |
Nice try rentaghost but given the implications I would have thought you might have done a bit better than that!
NOTE (JAN 28TH): BY WAY OF EXPLANATION REGARDING THESE TWO POSTS - A RATHER DISPARAGING POST BY RENTAGHOST - WHICH TOTALLY AVOIDED ADDRESSING THE ISSUES I RAISED IN MY POST ABOVE - HAS NOW BEEN REMOVED. |
Hot off the press............the word is new joiners are to be line trained with Astraeus, anyone know anymore?
|
Due to the fact that Jet2 do not have enough training capts on the 757 to cope with the large number of crews joining the fleet.
Pulp, Ex, RG you need to get a life and stop slagging something that is turning good instead of you turning green or black and blue if you slag me again! Best Regards SL:D |
At the rate F/O's are currently leaving the Astraeus 757 fleet, they might try and hang on to some of the Jet 2 guys:}
I wonder if any are going to Jet2? That would be a funny line training trip |
It is inconceivable that a Jet2 pilot would move to Astraeus. Jet2 salaries pay and conditions are far superior. It would also be a highly unethical move and I am sure the management at both company’s would not permit such behaviour.
|
4airscrews... untrue I'm afraid.
I've had the pleasure of working for both outfits, sincerely. T & Cs very similar. On the low side but similar. Main difference was number of days per month. |
Bloody hell!! You lot need some R+R!! You all take it so personally. Some have good opinions about Jet2, some have bad. From what I have heard it all sounds like a bag of **** to me!! Then again that's my obsevation. Leave Monde and X-Centric alone, they are only voicing their views.
Eff Oh P.S. (I know who they both are, and they are top blokes who know a lot!) Go'n yersel' boys. :D :D |
I totally agree Eff Oh.
As for Aloue, well he deserves the Booker prize for fiction. Monde, X-Centric, Sub Rosa, Pulp Fiction & others are on the numbers as far as I'm concerned. I bloody hate it here, it's a dictatorship but there may be light at the end of the tunnel. (The escape tunnel that I'm digging to get out of this cess pit).:yuk: |
Sorry boys, just got back from my leave. The leave that Ryanair are supposed to be cancelling, but that's another thread.
You've been bloody amazing at shooting yourselves down, this is hilarious. 4screwsaircrew, Jet2 salaries pay and conditions are far superior. Cheers Eff Oh, it's good to get support from my 2nd favourite city. |
X-Centric,
I trust you enjoyed your leave. It should be a good time to wind down, reflect on life and return to work with a positive attitude. Sadly, this has clearly not been the case with you. 7 days off and as bitter and twisted as ever ! Update............... (Page 7) The muppet took the bait - hook, line and sinker - rest of this post therefore deleted |
still got his clubs says:
As for Aloue, well he deserves the Booker prize for fiction. |
"It would also be a highly unethical move2"
What, changing jobs? unethical:confused: |
Atyourcervix73 - which airline are the Astaeus 757 F/O's leaving to join???
|
From what Im told mostly off to Monarch, as well as a couple to various other 757 operators:cool:
|
Homer, yes I really did enjoy my leave, it's going to be a busy but satisfying few months where I am!:\ As for the positive attitude, well I left Jet2 becasue I was positive that it was a poor place to be. I don't believe that I've ever been negative except when a company tried to trap a number of my colleagues & me into a fictious bonding arrangement & then proceeded to fly ineptly & not give a toss about the people who worked for them.
When you attempt to out someone on this site then you better be 100% sure that you have the correct person: the whole ethos of this site is based on free speech only available through anonymity to those of us who aren't untouchable managers. I would suggest to you that you edit your post as the person that you are 'hinting' that I am is wrong. I worked with the guy before we joined Jet2, I still know him & it is totally outrageous what you have just done. Aloue, don't keep blowing it out of your a$$. I know Pulp, I see him most days in the crew room & we are not one & the same person unless I'm looking at a bloody reflection every day. We share that same views on Jet2 becasue we had the exact same experiences, simple as that. Homer check your pm |
