I have also just spoke to recruitment, to update changes to my application, apparently they are down to around the last 20 or so, so expect to hear one way or another in the next week.

Hi all,
I am sure alot of people are in the same situation awaiting news from BA. To the people who have been invited for assessment as well as the individuals who have received an email from BA; did your online application status change as a result? I am checking my emails and BA profile on a daily basis, where it states my application has been ** Submitted **

Does this status change once they have made contact with you via email?

Many thanks
HighLow

Yes, you get a new link to book your interview on the summary page.

Got the invite

Got the invite today. Relieved
date is middle march.... oh well. Better late than never!

Point taken!

But isn't that exactly why we have Pprune? What do you think is different between giving the exact assessment details, since 2004, on THE LOW DOWN, and trying to prepare for a sim assessment by speaking to your sim buddy?

Hot Wings 12th November 2010 18:35

Green Army,

Top marks for trying to help everyone out but I feel that your last post oversteps the mark. It is extremely naive of you to think that people at BA don't read your posts. If you start trying to pair people up, all that will happen is that the assessment will change. Don't ruin it for everyone!!!

Super Stall 12th November 2010 21:38

I can state with 100% certainty that people from BA recruitment read these threads.;)

Calmcavok 12th November 2010 21:53

In that case, a good use of initiative by GREEN ARMY, or overstepping the mark in terms of pre-empting the assessment?! :E

Hot Wings 13th November 2010 07:05

Well, that all depends on how much confidence Green Army has in not being uncovered by BA!!!

Hot Wings 14th November 2010 18:24

Green Army,
You are, of course, assuming that BA are happy about you posting "the low down" in the first place!

Knowing who your sim partner is gives you a distinct advantage, as so much of the sim assessment is based on your notech skills (CRM).

alkor 14th November 2010 19:34

hi,

where can we apply?

So has anyone been to the Sim yet? Any information on what to expect would be very much appreciated!

Does anybody know when applications will open again?

lightsout 21st November 2010 07:43

Selection dates

Not holding my breath....but if anyone could now do with delaying their assessment until 12th Jan and could offer a week or so earlier in exchange....would be great to hear from you.
Cheers

Don't know when applications will reopen again but met the new Pilot Recruitment manager at my SEP recently.

He said that the decision to go for type rated DEP's was cost based (not his decision). Someone pointed out that with the reduced pay scales for SSP's etc is it really that much more cost efficient?

Anyway, he said that BA will be recruiting again and most probably from different backgrounds. I would imagine that some of the post 55 crowd will begin retiring (or dying) soon.

As an aside for anyone thinking of delaying an assessment: I flew with a guy who'd done his interview with a mate on Sep 10th 2001. He then drove to LGW to do his medical and faxed it to BA same day. His mate was going to do his the following week. BA honoured the first offer but not the second as it was 'subject to medical'. Luck I know but what does tomorrow hold?

757_Driver 22nd November 2010 20:42

got my SHL example booklets through the post today. The numerical test says see how many questions you can answer in 3 minutes WITH A CALCULATOR.

I'm pretty sure that when I went through all this in 2008 you couldn't use a calculator. which would make more sense. The questions are pretty damn simple if you can use a calculator! Can anyone who's been recently shed any light on it?
