Does anyone out there know the recruiting policies of the new start ups in the sandpit? Do they allow the chicks to have a turn or are they all still zero tolerance to the idea?

Careful what you wish for....... some of the locals have still a
problem if a female has a position who normaly "belong" in
their opinoion to a male. They do not see the quality........

Heard a chic voice from a Qatar callsign a few nights ago. Might have been wet leased cargo if they go for that kinda thing but might be worth investigating. Have heard female voice from Gulfair once or twice, but may have confused it with Brit FO, could not be sure.
Suggest you ring the major players and ask direct.

believe it or not but QR are the fore runners in the ME and have more than one female pilot on the AB there. Maybe the rest will follow shortly....(not likely):uhoh:

Yes Qatar are now interviewing and hiring women. To their shame Emirates have only one token one (as far as I know) related to someone I think.

No need to worry about the token chic driver at EK any more, as there are none. Well have seen one or two dodgey looking fellas there, but am reasonabley sure they are not chics in drag!
Was once a pic of female pilot on recruiting web page, but think it may have been HR person dressed up!!! (Sometimes these pictures need to stay within the bedroom don't you think as they tend to cause confusion!)

Both Emirates and Qatar have expat female pilots - I met 1 from each last week.

Hi Bus429, no females in EK at the moment. Rgds.

Gulf Air took on their first 2 female pilots earlier this year - both Europeans I believe.

Pleanty of room for women in aviation, In the galley!!!!

And just to put you on track, there are no ladies who presently do my job in aviation. I am quite sure you are correct, there are females who quite probably could, but right now they don't - FACT. It has always been that the lazy or barely-competent men wanted to keep women out of the competition for their work. It has also been for a long time that the rest of men welcomed anyone, and was civilised to anyone joining them in their occupation, having the confidence to cope with the competitors. That is what makes the sexist boors look so pathetic: it is a position primarily taken by people who are not confident, so they tend to be bullies, tend not to be good at their jobs and not willing to work for their position.
