The Great Salary Survey

I suppose that I have been reading these forums for a while now and I find it strange that everbody alludes to, but never quite spells out the great salary debate.

Is it not time to have it all out in the open. Maybe the administrators could get involved in setting something up, but it would be interesting to hear from all.

Here are some pointers ...

Company
Aircraft Type(s)

1st year S/O
1st year F/O
3rd year F/O
5th year F/O
1st year Capt
3rd year Capt
5th year Capt
10th year Capt

Monthly Salary
Overtime Pay
Housing, Schooling, Commuting Allowances
End of Year Bonus
Allowances / Per Diems
Duty free days (at home) per month

Days of Paid Leave
Days of Paid Sick Leave (other leave)

Travel Benefits (Duty & Off Duty)
Medical Aid, Loss of Licence, Accident Insurance Etc.

And I'm sure, other categories that I can't think of. Obviously some indication of currency or conversion to USD would be appropriate.

Yep, must be a journo if he's more interested in compensation than R/T procedures here on PPRuNe <g>.

TheVeryRightOne 2nd April 2004 07:13

;)

I wish I was a journalist. Just a poor pilot, looking for a better lot (like everybody) and hoping for some constructive answers.

Maybe the moderators could set up an online (anonymous) survey

To get detailed salary analyses:

become a member of BALPA
become a member of IPA/IPF
check out PPJN

No need to involve Pprune Towers etc. They're busy enough!

You want a salary comparison website? It's here: PPJN. Not good enough? Make your own. We've got quite enough to do already.

TheVeryRightOne 5th April 2004 06:16

What I can tell you is that Pilot's get paid to much for doing too little with lots of of time off (flight time limitations ensures that) and this time off gives them the opportunity to mull over they lot in life and how hard done by they are :E

Engineer

Dont let everyone know that or they'll all want to do it!

scroggs 5th April 2004 18:34
