Im 1 of the lucky 1s, fortunatley ive got another flying job starting in a couple of weeks.

But im sure the offer of freelancing would be tempting for the not so lucky other let down crew of E.a.C.

Well done Airkiss and good luck. I said in a previous post that if I were to work for European again, I would want to see money up front. This will be a purely freelance operation. They have got a nerve with the legal future of the company still undecided.
To work for them as before may well jeopardise any potential redundancy payment.:sad:

Any legal or redundancy claims not affected by going back to work for them.

I would certainly advise that you get the folding stuff, up front.

Was at the meeting only to find that the creditors voted to wipe off 90% of the debts so the Operation can start all over again - minus the onus of creditors - or at least that's how I interpreted it....

Said he had nothing to do with running EAAC since 5 NOV 2002. You believe that? a director? He was reminded that, as a director of 12 companies, he had a record of late filing of company accounts.
One hard-bitten representative accused him of having a cavalier attitude. The 5.6 bar owed by European Formula Racing was picked up and shaken like a rat by a particularly effective terrier.

He was a Director and so therefore in the eyes of the law, the DTI etc. therefore he is totally 100% liable...

If he is even attempting that tack then clearly he is either stupid, arrogant or thinks we are all idiots...or all 3...or knows he can play the system and get away with it

Suggest he tries that excuse at a court hearing when being prosecuted by the DTI (or PPS on criminal charges of fraud would be nice)...won't go very far...

Pursue it with DTI I think there are more than a few 'anomalies' worth investigating...and given a decent case they will

Amazing isn't it 'joe public' most of us will get pursued to the earth for a parking ticket or back tax...but do it big and they just stare into space...the system/law in the UK has it's priorities well screwed up! Still the lesson we should all learn is forget morals and if you are going to go down make sure you go down for a fortune :E

At least PGS is stating his facts! Its strange that no one is pointing the fingers at the ex-Finance Director who resigned at end of Feb, or Mr Stephen Woodland ex-Chief Operating Officer of EAAC.
I've just been shown all the info from Moore Stepehns & Co. It makes very interseting reading....... No mention of Stephen Woodland....
Mr. Woodland would be the person to vent anger on perhaps....
Maybe everyone should look at Bath Travel to get some salaries.... Or maybe even the ex Flight Ops Director, Mr J Barnes!!!

Been reading this thread with a heavy heart.

It sickens me to see people treated this way.

Especially as I had an Instructor from my previous company leave them to go onto the Classics, a man I had a lot of time for.

as stated before said 'Woodland' was not a director and therefore doesnt even legally come into the equation...all the other Directors do...and the ex. Finance Director resigning at end of Feb was smart man as he was not Director at the end of play at 17 March... play the legal game...for further direction/confirmation suggest you contact DTI

Yes it's my first post and no i'm not the press and I'm owed money, however reading the last few pages of this thred I've noticed that it's the same few people constantly having a go, I think it's got a bit boring. Hi Relax, I agree,but; wishing i hadnt even bothered actually. Especially as ,well,we havent been paid , I thought we would. Very bored of the whining thou, and gardening and assessment days are starting to grate too. For anyone that hasnt been yet, the thompson fly thing was interesting yesterday, difficult tests , but a much nicer attitude than EASY.

Relax, I am relatively regular on this thread, so please forgive me for coming onto it again.

None of the 'whiners' have given up on life! They are all trying to get their lives back onto an even keel, get jobs AND get what is legally owed to them. Why do you have a problem with that?

For whatever reason there are only 2 Directors who can legally carry the can, PGS and Willie O'Neil.

PGS made a strong case yesterday that he had been precluded from decision making re the running of the company by the 'New Directors' of the take over group, which included Michael Stoney of Travel City Direct and PJ Bath. They, along with Woodland, were calling the shots and ignored any input from PGS, who believed the company to have been effectively sold.

Legally that wasn't the case, hence PGS is in the firing line to take all the flak. Whether you think that is fair or not is irrelevant. Willie O'Neil was the person who introduced Woodland to the Company according to PGS.

From what came out of the meeting yesterday, PGS thinks that Cabin Crew and those with a salary under £20,000 will receive 100% of what they are owed. Pilots and middle to senior managers will not.

PGS has taken a salry cut to £25,000 and Willie O'Neill has agreed a cut to £65,000.

I make no comment re this as I am waiting to find out whether my idea of what I am legally owed is the same as the companies view. I note though that there doesn't appear to have been a 17 days for free package for these 2 gentlemen!!!

A promise has been made to prioritise payments to the staff. I sincerely hope that this promise is kept.

I know that one of the creditors of EAAC has had to go into Liquidation themselves because of the non payment of monies by EAAC. So the way the company was mis run has affected more than just you and me. Meanwhile Woodland is on the list of unsecured creditors because he was a management consultant!!

Sorry this has rambled on. I think you are naive if you think that it is okay to let those responsible for this mess get off the hook without meeting their legal commitments. That is why employment law exists, to try to protect those at the bottom of the pile from those mis-managing at the top.

Thank you so much for giving us the information regarding the creditors meeting. I was going to attend but was offered a job interview on Tuesday afternoon which I could not turn down. I'm pleased to say I did get the job so my decision was the right one.

However, that does not mean that I intend to forget all my colleagues who lost their jobs on 17th March 2004, like a great many other people have. I am still fighting to get our money, we earned it so we are owed it. Anybody else out there who has also found a new job and has given up on their colleagues, please don't. These last 3 weeks have been so stressful and it has been difficult to keep focused. I still have so much anger to deal with because of the way we have all been treated and I very much look forward to receiving what I am owed so that I can put it down to a very bad experience.

I feel very sad that so many people think it wrong for us to feel the way we do. I loved working at European, the people were fantastic, but management left a lot to be desired.

Thank you to the many people on this site who have understood what we have been going through and helped to keep our spirits up, hopefully this nightmare will come to an end very soon.

Congratulations to those of you who have found jobs and very best wishes and good luck to those who haven't. You will soon, don't despair and try to keep positive.

A bit of good news that I have heard this week, although some of you may already know - BASCO have employed some of our engineers at BOH. When they heard what had happened at European BASCO went over with offers of jobs. Now that seems like a good company to work for and I wish them well for the future. :ok:
