Rumours are that instead of the existing (fatique inducing) 6/3 roster, a 5/2 followed by 5/4 is in the works.
Is EJ management really commited to improving the working conditions? |

What happened to the rumour about easyJet at Bournemouth? Certainly a better lifestyle down south for the pilots, thats one way or keeping them!
Jet:ok: |
WHo said Sex and the City is over?...... 6 new cities. WHo will fly the planes though?

Sorry mate you'll have to explain that one to me! Lovejet Bournemouth would be a great idea - let's start a campaign! 5/2, 5/3, 5/4, 4/4, 3/5.....I've heard every variation under the sun in the last 12 months. |
I left EZY a few months ago but not through a dislike of the company.
However, I believe that there must be better ways of managing the resources to keep both management and flight crews happy. Whilst I wasn't involved with GO, I've heard from many that I flew with that they achieved an excellent balance between commercial necessity and personnel management. This seemingly engendered a real willingness to put yourself out, occasionally, because it was recognised as exactly that and not the norm expected of you. Even if that recognition were a just note or verbal thanks from your base capt. In my time with EZY I worked hard and I was mucked about roster wise but in comparison to my previous life I was able to plan my free time with much more certainty. I also found the people, Ops, Flight Deck and especially Cabin Crew to be extremely professional and generally wanting the best for their airline. Any frustrations were usually born out of a perception that the invisible upper echelons were ignorant of, or unresponsive to, the voices of the sharp end. There were senior capts trying to get the views of the people across but the phrase "falling on deaf ears" springs to mind. |
I started the thread before leaving Ezy. It's great hearing different views on the company, some like it and some hate it. I can safely say that although I enjoyed my time there, I now realise that average pilot workload at Ezy is plain right dangerous! If not an absolute joke!
I have now been with my new company for three months, not one change. Average roster is four days on/four off all two sector days and I have even got a social life. Would I ever go back to the 6/3 or more like 7/2? Not a chance!!!:= I feel sorry for you guys if the new FTL's come in! When will you be able to sleep? |
CSDU. What is the new company? Are they recruiting Boeing 737 Captains? If so where are their bases, and what is their job security? If you can answer 1 & 2 for me I'll figure out the rest. If you prefer please use the email address on my user CP.
If the BALPA talks stall much beyond Friday then I'll be actively seeking. I'm just finally fed up with Webster tightening down the thumbscrews whilst a good chunk of the savings seem to get blown on his bonus. In tough times I don't mind tightening the belt along with all my colleagues, but I'll not do it to satisfy greed. Stability has improved and for me there are less flexidays but I'm still tired. Each block of six or seven days seems to start as early as possible and the last day finishes as late as possible. This bracketing of your block of working days is completely unnecessary as usually the days in the middle are never as extreme. It just seems spiteful. Anyway, please let me know, I need to get a life. |
CSDU
Same as kite above and completely knackered. Pray tell! Can't last much longer here and don't hold out any hope for BALPA CC by the end of the week - despite their best efforts, they are being led a merry dance and Webster knows they have no militancy or teeth. |
Guys, I have been with easy now for almost 3 years and have loved every day of it! Any outside readers don't be put off by much of the crap you read here by a few individuals - yes easyJet has its problems, every airline does, but its fun & has a great bunch of people.
Didn't a whole bunch of folk leave not so long ago to pastures green only to find NOW that many of them have no job? It ain't all bad. |
Does any anyone know what Brittania are actually paying ? i couldnt find out from their website (not very computer literate).
What would the package be for a D.E. LTC ? Very interested in replies ? Regards NF |

Try looking at http://www.ppjn.com/jthomsonfly.html Not an official site but it looks accurate. TC increments about what you're used to at EJ |
CSDU - it's gotta be Thomsonfly for you i reckon , still at least the taxiway advertising at LTN worked!!

Yes, went to BAL. What a change!!!!! Great airline and great people. It's amazing how organised a company can be. Work is great, there and back with a one hour turnaround. To be honest I feel positively relaxed now opposed to when I was working at EZY. It's bloody hard to take your holiday as you have so much time off. They have nice little perks, for example if you start your holiday half way through the week they will give you an extra 4 days off for free.
BAL are looking for people on the 737 and the 757. Check out there website and apply. they are also opening bases down south which are very close to London. |
EZY resignations
I hear EZY have lost 15% of the pilot group since January 2005!!!! 6 captains from LPL resigned last week to go to RYANAIR!!!
Attrition of your workforce in these numbers must really hurt the profit margin...let alone moral! |
BAL
Is that Blood Alcohol level?
|
It's morale, for goodness sake.
moral: based on a sense of right and wrong. morale: a degree of mental or moral confidence of a person or group. |
sorry wrote in American!
wrong country...spelling slightly different...and nearly the same language!!!
|
The Liverpool guys should be aware of the sayings"out of the frying pan into the fire" or the less politically correct"same !!!!! different flavour" coz they are going to understand them soon. Anyway as Frankie said "welcome to the pleasuredome"Good luck and may your god go with you(thanks Dave A)

Unfortunately some who don't wish to leave have been given no choice due to the cretinous management's current policy on over 60's.
