Airlines - Monthly hours?
 

Some questions to those flying at major scheduled airlines:

1. How many flying hours (block to block) can you be assigned on a rostered month? (before overtime kicks in)
2. For long and ultra-long haul ops, how are flying hours credited for purposes of calculating rostered monthly flying hours? (ie: 1 hr block = 1 hr credit or 1 hr block = 0.75 hr credit... etc)
3. How is dead-heading (positioning) credited in relation to the above?

If you could mention your specific airline when replying it would be much appreciated.

This probably is not what you want to read but...

SQ

No overtime. Straight salary regardless of hours, no credit for positioning, which was always done in first/business class.
Long haul, same same

SV

Overtime started at 70 hours, no credit for positioning, usually done in first class if space available. Long haul with augmented crew was one for one credit.

UL

Altho not a large carrier, nonetheless state-owned and was...

No overtime. Straight salary, regardless of hours, no credit for positioning, which was always done in FC. Long haul with one crew only, no augmented.

Now, having said all this, all of these carriers offered tax-free salaries (except SQ) with accomodations provided (or pay in lieu), very long annual leave periods, 13th month (sometimes more) additional salaries, and a rather good end-of-contract bonus, as well as a provident fund.
