Maybe the prospect of spending even more time at home with the wife fills him with fear.

fatbus 19th Jul 2020 23:29

There was a US 320 Capt flying for some carrier in Vietnam " helping them out " during this difficult times me . BS ! There may be more to it but.....

Pearly White 20th Jul 2020 02:02

Why worry? It's obviously an unsustainable position. Who can afford to work for nothing?

And it might just be a management troll.

Down here in oz pilots have been doing this in GA for 50 years that I know of and happy to fly overweight and unserviceable light aircraft. Then they move to the airlines and sneer about how lousy GA is, and it is , thanks to these twerps.

fab777 11th Aug 2020 17:40

I just saw an ad from Rishworth for Vietnam Airlines. A320 LTC/TRI/TRE position, 400 usd basic plus 25 usd/hour after the 25th.

Why not, if a captain is ready to fly for nothing?

PilotLZ 11th Aug 2020 23:01

Sounds too good to be true, where can I sign up onto the waiting list?

On a serious note, does anyone think that this is actually sustainable? The cost of relocation to Vietnam, quite likely transferring your licence and medical, hiring accommodation, paying for transportation, food, amenities etc quickly adds up to an amount which you will never, ever recoup on this income. So, technically, you're going there to burn your savings instead of earning anything. P2F - TRI edition. And, unlike the clueless P2F blokes who sign onto almost similar schemes to get into the RHS, you're the one to go to jail if they screw up. Curious to know who will be desperate enough to take that.

Flew a trip with an NINE year Easy copilot a few years ago (usless) . On his way to Vietnam as a Capt.
Makes you wonder?

Superpilot 13th Aug 2020 09:31

Jobs like that in Asia right now are to meet some urgent but very very uncertain and short term need (those words are not contradictory in Asia).

RoyHudd 14th Aug 2020 22:48

Extraordinary and sad times for aviators.

guy_incognito 15th Aug 2020 11:15

The worrying thing is I don't think the bottom is anywhere near being reached. Terms and conditions still have a long, long way to fall.

Overheat 17th Aug 2020 15:43

Is this P2F 2.0???
If it is Overheat out.

Are they for real ?

SOPS 27th Aug 2020 13:15

Is this what the industry has reduced to?

Meester proach 27th Aug 2020 15:46

Is that a typo ?

CW247 27th Aug 2020 16:21

Of course it's a typo. Not even a Vietnamese cabin crew could survive on $400 per month.

limahotel 27th Aug 2020 17:24

Perhaps they forgot to add a zero to the basic fee. And it would still be appalling.

Meester proach 28th Aug 2020 01:19

CW247

It’s not.. Someone contacted them according the “ redundancies “ thread in R&N. With flight pay can expect $3500_5000
