Late transfer of UK ATPL
Hi there, I hold a UK JAR FCL ATPL which I am not currently using (flying on a full Middle Eastern country licence, probably for the rest of my career). I’m an EU citizen and wish to keep my options open for the future, just in case. I started the process to transfer my JAR FCL licence to a UK EASA ATPL with the intention of transferring to an Irish EASA. What happens if I don’t make the deadline? I’m not concerned about continuity (as I fly in the ME) but I don’t want to have to do the whole licence again in the future if I want to work back in the EU. Any ideas? Thanks! |
Any reply you get (including this one) will be mostly speculation. As far as I see it: 1. Brexit postponed - extra time for your transfer to go through 2. Brexit with a deal - effectively remaining in EU until December 2020 3. Brexit no deal - hardest to predict but would hopefully just be a delay in the transfer process. Common sense would say eventually there’ll be an agreement to facilitate transfers but who knows with aviation authorities! |
Thanks
Many thanks 👍 |
