Did anybody who applied for the non-rated f/o position got an invitation?

BARKINGMAD 3rd Sep 2013 09:15

X-wind landings.

Is it possible that if I applied to Jet2 as an experienced 73NG LHS driver, I would have to pass the Compass Test and demonstrate my X-wind landing proficiency on this test?

I must go and practise on the real aircraft for this event!

Gosh, I'm getting excited at the prospect...........................................

Hi,

Not yet.

Barkingmad.......as has been said on this thread and others the compass test has been dropped. IF successful you can demonstrate your undoubted excellent skills in the simulator.

Spoke to the recruitment team today. They have had over 1000 applications up-to-now and have started looking through them. He did say that we should hear back within the next 7 days. Good Luck to All !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

compass test

Bluepilot

Hi does that mean it's been dropped for second officer applicants also?

Compass Test

Hmmm, I have been hearing different rumors every time I come here to pprune.

The latest I heard is that the compass test has been dropped for rated pilots and been replaced with actual simulator assessment. Non rated pilots still have to take the compass test.

Could someone confirm if the above information is correct!

Lord Spandex Masher 4th Sep 2013 11:34

Incorrect. Compass tests only for "cadets".

1,000 applications for all ranks and types, or only for the rank you've applied for?

Either way, one heck of a lot.

JJP, did you teach your students on what to do should the weather drop below minima at your destination airfield?

I would not boast about landing outside if limits or do it. That's the kind of person no one wants on their flight deck!

Vone Rotate 4th Sep 2013 17:13

You never know who is who on here do you.....

And no, you probably would rather land outside limits when I would be looking to divert so I understand why you wouldn't want me on your flight deck.

Good luck in your application though

To be honest, yes I would rather land than run out of fuel. Thanks for your input:ok:
