Loads of people seem to have struggled with the online application system. Then, others like me have not heard anything at all since applying. At least a "thanks but no thanks" would have been nice. |
Me too, I have 3500 TT including 3000 Jet and I applied back in April!
|
Maybe I'm the only one but I find JET2 online application pretty complicated to fill...
|
Maybe I've failed at the first hurdle, but I can't even find the applications website:}
Anybody care to point me in the right direction please? |
Anyone with insider knowledge?
The latest Flightjobs advert is for type-rated pilots. Jet2 seem to interview ab-initio, then experienced non-TR then TR in that order. Does this mean they have found enough experienced non-TR people?
I have >3000hrs total, with 2000hrs as FO on twin turboprop. Application completed end of August, application email acknowledgement received but not a sniff of an interview :} |
Does anyone know how much notice Jet2 give prior to interview and if successful, the lead time prior to joining?
|
I had 5 days notice prior to interview, followed by 4 days notice for sim. Its roughly 4-5 weeks later you start the TR. It's all very quick!
|
Many thanks Tsym, that's a great help.

It's all gone a bit quiet on here, I've heard that the low hours guys have been offered places on courses but have any of the experienced (non type rated) guys heard anything? What's the terms for those that fall into that category? Rumour is £23000 up front for low hours guys on 100% contract but can't imagine a massive uptake from the experienced guys with those prices so what's on offer? Or is it just take it or leave it?
|
Nothing here here. Anyone else in the commercial experienced / non-rated category heard anything? What's the ideology behind taking 200 hour pilots in preference to guys with some commercial exposure?
Good luck to all those who've got the nod :ok: 2500TT / non-rated |
Are any DEC people getting calls?
Don't want to piss them off by phoning too often, but keep getting told to update c.v. for recruitment in july, aug, sept etc. |
Not a dickybird - DEC non-type rated applicant:sad:.
|
Is there any info available regarding pay €€€£££?
|
They're not taking 200 hour FO's in preference to experienced people, they're aiming for a mixture of low houred and experienced plus some ex-military. And I think they have an agreement with Oxford to take a few of their guys each year. I hear from the DFO that those requiring a type rating will be bonded for it and the offers are all 100% unless a winter off contract is requested - which is good news if true. Not sure if the bonding instead of up-front payment for the type rating applies to everybody or just experienced guys.

And I think they have an agreement with Oxford to take a few of their guys each year. It's clear to me that if you have a B737 TR you are almost what they are looking for, take or leave the a/c variant. But where do they make the cut between an experienced-no TR (i.e. A320 guys vs. DHC8 TP vs. anyone with > 1500TT, 1000 light TP, commercial experience...etc,etc) and a low-hrs? No need to state what a 200TT is, though. Best luck to everyone. |
I applied late July/early August, was called a week later, assessment day early September, offer in late Sept. DEC, 5000+, Non-TR, ex military. Jobs are being offered to folk but I guess there are just a lot of names in the hat and it's taking a while to work through them all.

Papazulu,
From the jobs section of the Jet2 website the requirements are Minimum requirements to apply for Non Type Rated First Officer are as follows:
Regards |
As an organisation we are trying to keep a level of balance in the recruitment, inexperienced pilots will not be in the frame for a command as swiftly as an ex turbo prop pilot or a service pilot. They will however take all the line training sectors we have over the winter so we start them first and the more experienced people later; that at least is the theory:ok:
