easyjet new base

So, what is going to be the new base this year ??

Alexander de Meerkat 30th Jan 2010 12:40

I've heard it's going to be Mars.

Thad Jarvis 30th Jan 2010 13:51

Isle of Man. Rest home for retired 737 fleet :ok:

Agaricus bisporus 30th Jan 2010 15:32

Liberia, the world's historical centre for the acqusition, processing, indoctrination and export of slaves.

"Harrr! Cor, me lad! Think of the profit we'll make from this cargo of likely lads. Look at 'em, fine specimens, rich daddies all! Hoho! £25,000 profit each for no effort at all! Arrr! Were go'n be rich beyond yer woildest fantasies!! Mind yer don't spoil 'em by paying 'em anything, no holidays, and by God don't feed 'em! Spoil'em, that will - treat 'em mean, keep 'em hungry and keen! Can't afford it anyhow. Harrr! Plenty more where 'ey came from!! Dividends? Zooks no lad, 'ere'll be none left after our share, harr!

Grabs a dingy grey-clad slave's pet parrot, strangles it with relish and sells its feathers to a passing tinker for threepence, which he pockets. Cuffs slave for good measure, mutters "rollout engagement initiative next week"; exits stage left, limping due to the vast bags of gold in his bulging pockets.

:ugh:

Mr Wilberforce, where are you?

seasexsun 30th Jan 2010 16:19

and seriously, rumours about BCN according to the local newspapers.

VdV 30th Jan 2010 17:42

Pretty sure the new base is in Hell. Easier for Cor et al to get home.

fiftypercentn1 30th Jan 2010 17:51

it s a very interesting thread for me too, please let' s keep info to the useful ones..I wish I had accurate ones to give but nothing accurate yet..

captplaystation 30th Jan 2010 19:28

Why only the "useful" ones, if you are in Easy you will hear soon enough when they ask for bods to go there, if you are not ? well, as previously stated,

Likely bases

Hell, Mars , Planet ZOG (most new entries to the company already based here it seems ) Sodom & Gomorrah dual basing , provide your own transport, Up your own @rse, up someone elses @rse, in a coma, on a drug induced cloud if you saved in advance.

Guys, how can you get even remotely excited as to where you will be living as you take it , unlubricated, up the @ss.
For chrissakes, grow up , and see what your "job":= is becoming.
Is being  in BCN any more palatable than being  in LTN ?

fiftypercentn1 30th Jan 2010 19:30

very pleased to know you' ll stay in LTN then.

captplaystation 30th Jan 2010 19:34

Don't work for them, never worked for them, would happily work for them if they offered me DEC in BCN on decent conditions, merely p1ssed off that we wonder about the minutae, whilst the whole profession goes down the toilet.
No offence, but there are bigger fish to fry in Easy methinks, particularly if you are an F/O, but for sure it will crawl onto the Capt's plate in due course :yuk:

lpokijuhyt 30th Jan 2010 20:39

My guess would be your new base will be your parent's house for at least the next 20-30 years. How are you going to afford anything else?

captplaystation 30th Jan 2010 20:51

Cmon-PullUP,

Even better, join Ryanair, 37 bases & counting . . Inc (soon) Faro & Malaga !

Having been happily thus ensconsed in Girona I know where you are coming from, but do you really want to end up earning less than the guy that drives you to the airport in the bus,(& he can retire early & survive just fine thanks, well at least in GRO )

Oh, and BTW, did you ask what social contribution your company, or indeed what did you make ? in your happy new country that you live in, so if the sh1t hits the fan will you will have some dosh till you sort yourself out ?

Club 18/30 & a bit of f@rting around with jets is great. . . up to a point, but it isn't the "real world".

beachbumflyer 30th Jan 2010 23:41

captplaystation,

Right on the money.

dontdoit 31st Jan 2010 10:07

2 x 319s into the Isle of Man apparently. Watch this space.

Speevy 31st Jan 2010 10:29

Fifty,

Non ragioniam di lor ma guarda e passa
as our friend Dante once wrote..

Next base??

BCN me think..

No chance for HND this time I am afraid, maybe next year..

You clearly have no idea about the Spanish EZY contract. Please inform yourself before opening your mouth.

Borealis 14th Jun 2011 18:48

Slightly off topic, but it sounds to me that people in Easy are becoming more and more unhappy. Does anyone have the "pleasure" of having worked for both Ryanair and Easy? Is Easyjet the new Ryanair?

kick the tires 14th Jun 2011 20:25

yes it is and no it isnt.

PENKO 14th Jun 2011 21:16

Nah, morale is on the way up :ok:

flyingcamel 15th Jun 2011 07:54

Why no midlands base for EZY? I seem to recall orange in EMA a while ago but why no more?

binsleepen 15th Jun 2011 09:11

Jet2 moved into Easy's EMA crewroom and painted the Orange, Red.

superced 15th Jun 2011 09:49

much better

Doug the Head 15th Jun 2011 10:19

Nah, morale is on the way up :ok:
Give these children (read: cadets) supervised by teenage babysitters (read: captains) a new CEO (read: father/mother figure) to look up to while simultaneously broadcasting more empty promises over the company email and suddenly all is forgotten and "morale is on the way up!"

But of course! Unlike Webster and Harrison, THIS time it WILL be different! :hmm: Oh man, how dumb can anyone be to be falling for the same trick over and over again...? :ugh:

Spot on captplaystation, unfortunately all low-cost airlines (EZY, RYR AB etc) are in the 'same sh!t, different name' category. Hence the name of the beast "low-cost." The whole concept is founded on screwing every last penny out of customers, contractors and aircraft manufacturers. It's incredibly naive to think that any low cost airline employee is somehow magically exempted from that concept...

10000% Right

Wee Weasley Welshman 15th Jun 2011 11:46

Oh give it a rest Superced.

UK Captains are nearly all on £84k + 10% bonus + £11k sector pay + 7k pension = £110k. On a 5/3/5/4 pattern with a stable, profitable, PLC employer offering 19 work locations. There is also Share Save + Share Buy + Free Share apologies. Continental Captains earn >30% more again.

Its nicer as an Air France widebody skipper I'm sure. Buy hey.

Like most flying jobs these days, there are pro's and there are con's. I'm pleased you left to find a job you enjoy more. Why you feel compelled to slag off easyJet every five minutes is curious.

AIRWAY 15th Jun 2011 12:09

Greetings all,

Last year easyJet announced together with the Portuguese PM that a new base would be created at Lisbon Airport this year. Anyone with more news about this? Or has it all gone down the drain?

Stone Cold II 15th Jun 2011 16:58

Well said WWW.

fjencl 15th Jun 2011 17:18

Easyjet set to fly from Stobart's Southend airport.

What a laugh!!

Good nite buddy, sleep well....

BlackandBrown 16th Jun 2011 12:11

You are saying that you NET £110K per year? Not with easyJet in the UK you don't. That is Gross.

BlackandBrown 16th Jun 2011 13:01

It's gross and I wasn't saying it is a bad salary - it's about the market rate.

Giving people personal feedback on here just fuels their fire. Refrain.

freightdoggy dog 16th Jun 2011 13:03

Tasty Geezer International Airport no less:ok:....do Routair still drive those red trators round the ramp at SEN ?

superced 16th Jun 2011 15:37
