Yeah you would think so, but so many out of work with this crisis, that they figure low pay is still better then no pay!
|
Im told theres a heap of applicants to Wizz these days, even with many hrs on the A320, so they shouldnt be short on anyone! Recruit! Plenty of drivers to choose from these days. |
Sad but true.
|
Everybody is talking about the low pay....:bored:
Don`t forget that the basic salary is less than a half of your salary. You have to add your leg payment.(i`m talking about wizz hungary!) Compare your gross to other companies in this region. Some DEC changed from Majors to Wizz!A big issue is also taxation in your country of residence of course. |
How is the company doing in the current climate ?
How financially sound are they and how are the Pax/yield figures looking. Answers on a postcard............ |
The yield, I dunno, but the flights out of Cluj are quite OK (150+)... And even though the salary is not the highest in Europe, we get it on time...
|
I was contacted a couple of weeks back about an engineering management position, turns out you had to pay to get to the interview(and all costs) no accomodation or transport and all that for 2000ish GBP per month, I made my excuses and declined:eek:
|
matkat this is typical for Hungarian eastern mentality they are always loosing it on small details.

I attended the selection process in Feb this year. It was held at Alteon LGW and consisted of an intro to the company followed by a short interview and then a short SIM assessment in an A320. I think there were about 24 of us in total there.
As they do everyone on the same day there is lots of hanging around, firstly for the interview and then for the SIM. The Pilot training manager who does the SIM assessment also does the interview so that tended to slow things up. I arrived at 0930 and left aroound 1800. The only base on offer was Kiev, but of course that may have changed. From memory the interview was not too arduous - no really deep technical questions. It was conducted by an HR person and the PTM - be prepared to answer the usual CRM questions, especially if going for DEC (PM me for more specifics if you wish). Read up on the Airbus philosophy (laws etc...) so that you have a basic understanding. I wasn't type rated so if you have the Airbus rating then I would expect more specific questions on type. Although they send you the SIM profiles (speeds, pitch attitudes and limitations etc...), due time constraints my SIM ended up being condensed and all they were looking for was an acurate ILS, basic EFATO control, SE ILS and GA. Lasted about 20 mins! They seem like a nice company, certainly friends who are there are reasonably happy. I understand that there have been (and maybe still are) major disagreements in the pilot management hireachy, but then what company doesn't have those issues? Look carefully at the package and make sure it is right for you. Once on line the money is not too bad for the current climate, but whilst training (inc' LT) it is poor with no flight pay. However they were offering a free TR (with a bond), so on balance it may not be so bad - your decision! |
Does someone know how long does it take to have been called for the interview after having submitted the apllication?
Many tks in advance. |
Dunno about FO's, but Skippers pay varies on the sectors you fly.
Captain basic is Euro 40k New Captain earns 36k basic for first 6 months from Command check. Sector pay: Short 60 Euro Medium 72 Euro Long 84 Euro In a busy month as a new Captain, you can earn 6500 Euro plus. Quiet months 5000 to 5500 Euro. You have to arrange your own Taxes. And believe me, you will have to pay them.... I believe there is no more Direct Command for guys who have lots of hours, but no previous Command time. Some were lucky enough to get this route in the past. Me included. So, in summary, it's not the highest paying job, but it's expanding and seems to do ok. Bases: Most likely Katowice, Gdansk, Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara or Sofia? But this is just guessing. I believe there may now be waiting lists for Prague, Budapest, Poznan, Warsaw. No idea about Kiev. Not sure about "Management battles". They all seem to get on well from what I see. The airline is growing up. The "old days" of flying club standards are LONG GONE!! There is a real, consistent and durable drive towards strong SOP's, safe operation and good training. Cowboys need not apply anymore. Wizz is a pretty good place to be right now. |
I called them and emailed CV because the application forms didn't come through on my laptop. Nice lady call me back and tell me I could come next week for chat, didn't want to go through agency. Captains must have command time 500hrs on jets for DEC. Pay will be discussed by about 4000e plus fly pay, less tax.. She say if you don't pay tax it can give to big problems
|
I have send my application on the 10.09.09 but still no news

Hi Yellow Baron,
To answer your question, I think they won't give any news until the 5th of Oct 2009 which is the max date to submit applications. Good luck. Garba. |
