Somebody could tell information about Wizz-air?? What they demand?
People who many hours in turboprop... no experienced pilot.Yo have to pay the TR ...???

Based on the current fleet development plan, the fleet should consist of up to 53 aircraft by 2012 (please read more on Wizz Air Fleet). º Know English language fluently

When they say

"Hold ATPL frozen, national licence (issued according to ICAO or JAA regulations)"

Does FAA ATPL count then, since it is ICAO?

Doubt it. I think they mean a European national ATPL gained before JAA was formed. If you had an FAA licence, you would have to convert it to fly for Wizz. I'm not sure what the current requirements are but I'm guessing that the 14 JAA exams would have to be completed.

And if an FAA licence holder is American then he probably wouldn't have the rights to live and work in the European Union!

If you are bulgarian, hungarian and romanian you go direct to Wizz air, even if you have an FAA license you can joyn them as an FO. If you are not local then you have to go through agencies. There are two agencies out there. They hire FAA guys (if not local) with time on type only. They want 300 hours on type.

My friend is a hungarian and he is in the Oktober class for wizz air. He hold FAA license, not JAA, but he got around 1500 hours total time.

Never believe everything you read on Prune that's for sure!
1-YES, Wizz Air employ guys with FAA licence.
2-NO, you don't need time on type or even an Airbus type rating.
3-Correct 2 agencies are currently recruiting for Wizz, I would strongly recommand to go with Confair in AMS.
For info Hungary is not YET a full JAA member so they are accepting ANY ICAO licences....you just have to convert it into a National Hungarian licence (takes about 2 months, type rating+conversion).
When Hungary finally becomes a FULL MEMBER, then your National licence will become JAA.

Yes, not yet a full member, but I expect that country to become one within the next 12 months.....what it takes is only an audit from the JAA.

The day they become a full member the "loop hole" will be close! so hurry up....if you don't want to sit the 14 exams.

74world, it's my understanding that the Hungarian CAA have failed 2 JAA audits so far (certainly 1 at least), and "in the next 12 months" has a familiar ring to it for Hungarian pilots. This has lead to many Hungarian pilots speculating that the reason for the lack of Hurry Up on the part of the CAA may be political - in the sense that it makes it far harder for their pilots to disappear off to better-paying jobs in the rest of the EU.

Even when the audit is passed, there remains the distinct possibility that new JAA converted licences may not be accepted by other member states, especially for engineers as has happened in the past with their neighbours.

Sorry but I don't agree with you......Hungary will (eventually) pass the JAA audit, it's only a matter of time!

Once the audit is pass, then the Hungarian CAA won't be able to do what they are currently doing, that is: accept ICAO licences. :rolleyes:

For pilots ALREADY holding a National licence it will be an automatic switch over (if requested).......

What I've mentioned above has already happened with the "new EU members", and it will happen again.

Further more, Wizz Air is not currently JAA compliant for fun.

it`s a difficult question it depends where you pay your taxes,between 1900-3150 Euro net.,but most of us get between 2000-2500 net:{
(It varies because in some countries you do not have to tax the flight pay!)

Captain salary is 40000 Euro p/a plus sectors = 40000 + min 450x60Euro additional you get 8% for insurance etc. 72360Euro p\a(gross),net varies just as I said 2 posts before!!!!!

Actually, 36 000 Euro for the first 6 months and then 40 000

sector pay starts at 60/72 depending on length
Also a pay rise of 3 euro a sector and 2000 per year for every 1000 hours with the company

you should define turbine time. it could be cessna caravan, pilatus, ATR,... Depending on that your options would vary a lot. Also if these hours have been flown in a multicrew aircraft

For DEC , they seem to want a lot of command plus jet time, I have 6500TT, 3000 Command ATR and 1000 F/O Jet and just scraped in as a DEC.

The cabin crew salary is 3600 euro/year + they give you all sorts of things..like : uniform,bag,id,transportation sometime! It's definatly a hot deal, but it's better if you work abroad as a steward/stewardess.
Try India:} - King Fisher ! They also produce beer!

No, average for CA is around 800-1000 euro per month. More for SCA obviously...

What do they ask for DEC? Is it possible to join even being non EU citizen?

a. Right to live and work in EU
b. JAR FCL

The word on the street is that they need about 60 F/O's and 60 Captains. More and more f/o's are being upgraded as we speak.

Been watching this thread with interest.

I work for Wizzair and although it has its ups and downs, for me - it suits.

It does have a rare quality in this day and age thus:

A command is achievable within 3-4 years from pretty much a standing start.

Wizzair is very much an airline which rewards loyalty in terms of time in, as well as ability.

For an aspiring FO who has age on their side - you can do a lot worse than Wizzair.

I'm looking for a position as First Officer in Europe, where I think Wizz could be a chance.

I was trying to check the website but it refers only to Captains.....I wonder if there is a specific page to access and put my data......lookinf for help as it looks like on Captain position is advertised.

Both schemes possible depending on contract.

You are right! the FO application has been removed from the website. It was there a couple of weeks ago. Keep checking regularly as I think it will be back again soon:ok:
