From what I heared from EZY collegues, they realy need FO´s.

Can´t believe, but I have been told that normal line captains have to fly as "non Flying" crewmember from the right seat???
So, good chance for FO´s probably at nearly every age!
BTW, is this "two line-captain operation" approved by BALPA?
In Germany LH tried it once, but this "two line-captain operation" was turned down by the German Cockpit association.

What is the benefit of paying two capt. salaries?
Aren't F.O.s cheaper?
This is obviously an expense they would like to eliminate.
Is it such a poor deal to be an FO that they can't get them quick enough ?

I'm quite surprised by what I'm reading now. EZY short of F/O? Good news but I haven't been called for interview yet. I applied more than 3 months ago. Ok, fair enough, I don't have 1500TT. My experience is 1300h TT with 1000h JAR25 jet. Do you think I still have a chance to be called or no way before 1500 TT?

in limbo i have heard of ryanair taking on FAA license holders so why not candian and the user pay sim eval crap is pretty straight forward YOU PAY FOR A SIMULATOR EVALUATION to see that your up to the job

Fun reading all this... I payed EZY a visit a couple of weeks ago in Ezy-land, I talked face to face with a young lady in the HR. She told me that there was no vacancies right now, but they interviewed 8 pilots every week to fill out the gaps from pilots retireing and leaving for other jobs. But there was no big need for pilots, and the biggest chance of getting an interview was having a recommendation letter by the HR from a hired pilot...

Well, thats what she told me anyway...

Why any professional company employs women to vet pilots for employment is a question in itself.

EZY are desperately short of F/O at the moment , a senior line trainer was recently sent to STN to work as an F/O for three days as " there just arent any anywhere"

A lot of the CTC wings guys got chopped , rumour is they are now coming back and that the line trainers have been told to go easy on them to get them through, a very poor state of affairs indeed.

It may be true that EZY is short of F/O's but they must manage until now because otherwise they would change the requirements.

You can't apply if you don't meet the requirements because than you would have to lie on one of the questions of the application form.

Couldnt say exactly , however flew with a guy the other day who had been on the same course ,and he reckoned that two on the course never made it out of the SIM , from that same group , i know for a fact a further four were sent back to the SIM after base/line training .

That a fairly high percentage from a normal course of 15-20 bodies .

As to the their exact status now , i dont know ; you would need to ask the guys in Alteon House , some of them are coming back and as i say , line trainers have been told to go easy on them to get them through .

p.s. not having a go at the Cadets . It was hard enough for very experienced pilots to get through the CTC nonsense and checked to line , i am amazed at what some of the low hours people achieve.

Nil further, I do not know who told you that. Line Trainers at easyJet have NOT been told to go easy on the cadets. If it is indeed true that the few who did not make it through are returning for more training, then they will be treated the same as always and pass or not on their own merits. Hopefully they will get through this time. The standards are high at easyJet and will remain so.

The line trainers will most definately not be going easy on these cadets!

They will have to achieve the required standard whatever!

Will do their training with Senior TRE's. Overheard this in the Alteon building myself.
