at my assessment there were 4 out of 12 B767 rated guys to go LH direct.
So i guess they give 767 only to rated 767 guys and just a few.
Mainly was 320, just 3 of us 737. By the way one week now, no news of my assessment...?? i think its a bad sign.

For anyone that has done the sim assessment is anyone still waiting to hear a yes/no?

massiveheed 16th Feb 2011 16:04

For those fretting over sim assessment results I feel your pain. I did mine a month ago and they said yes two weeks later. By that point my refresh button was worn out.

Damianik 16th Feb 2011 16:16

AHAHAH, i hear you!

Tandemrotor 16th Feb 2011 16:17

ExpressDriver:

Whilst I appreciate your dilemma, if you are seriously considering sitting out until a LH offer comes along, (if it ever does, and if BA deign to make you another job offer after you turned them down once?) I'm afraid you don't really understand the crucial nature of seniority in BA. For example, I have heard it suggested that we may be recruiting 200 pilots in the next 12 months alone. A difference of 200 places on the seniority is absolutely MASSIVE! It also applies for your ENTIRE career' and determines every part of your working life. Join or don't. Just don't wait.

Guys/gals,

Anyone passed the sim recently had a start date?? Been waiting around 3 weeks since getting the "passed the sim" email but still no start date :(

Cheers,

WUL

About 6 months after I joined a mate asked if he should accept a 320 course or hold out for the Jumbo....3 months later they turned off the tap. Fortunately for him he took my (limited) advice based purely on the mantra that seniority is everything (in BA at least).

There are mutterings of LH recruitment - but remember that, when the likes of me are unfrozen and get to move, we'll still be above you in terms of seniority, so you'll still get everyone else's leftovers. That's not meant to sound derogatory but a simple fact of BA life (from someone who has been 50 off the bottom of the company the past 3 years!)

If a move to BA is right for you, do it as soon as you are able; given your demographic, you are unlikely (as am I) to see the LHS of a LH aircraft anyway!!!

:ok:

Time from success to starting conversion / employment with BA

Congratulations to all above that have passed Selection and Sim.

I would be grateful to know how long successful applicants have been waiting from being told that they are successful to starting conversion / employment with BA.

(I understand from previous posts that Online Application to Selection can be weeks or months and Selection to Sim averages around 3 weeks).

Many thanks to all who can reply with their experience.

SMOOTHFLIER 17th Feb 2011 11:04

Does anybody know at what stage successful applicants will no longer be given a start date and put in a hold pool?
If I were to pass sim in april when would I be likely to start?

Baron buzz 17th Feb 2011 12:57

Was informed that if you pass your sim this month, it'll be a July start date at the earliest.

Good luck everyone.

Sim assessment Mid-March

Hi boys and girls,

if some of you have their sim assessment around mid-march, please PM to get in touch.

Moreover any feedback for the sim is welcome...

During the 1st stage, I have been told that BA are now giving start dates for June/July ... if that helps.

Best of luck to everyone.

What aircraft are you rated on?

Well done to you.

veetwo 26th Feb 2011 07:48

Just got the happy news yesterday. Probably the best email of my life... many thanks to all the posters on this forum who contributed useful info.

For my part I'll just say that my Sim was not without mistakes, by a long stretch, but we worked well as a team which would seem to be the most important thing. If it was solely about flying to IR standards then I wouldn't be celebrating anything.

Good luck to all those who have assessments / sim's coming up.

wingsandturbines 26th Feb 2011 18:07

Congratulations to veetwo and others that have made it!

Still a long way for me as I haven't even done day 1 yet!

Bought a few books about numerical reasoning but can't find that many question banks of the type we get at BA as most of the banks I have include data and graphs analysis and I understand this is not present in BA tests.
Anyone have any good books or webpages to train?

Can someone confirm that it still is simple problems involving only basic multiplying/dividing/adding/subtracting as well as fractions/decimals/percentages/rates/areas and ratios?

Cheers

Waited a week to hear I was in the talent pool.
'Talent Pool'? - shows that BA really have gone PC bonkers... Anyway, congrats Air Kojak, enjoy the course:ok::ok:
