Does anyone know how long after the sim check you can expect to wait before receiving news of success? Cheers
|
If you are planning a trip to Cranebank I wholeheartedly recommend the Jurys Inn Hotel.
It is about 3 Minutes walk from Hatton Cross Tube station and about 5 Mins walk from Cranebank. The rooms are bigger, cleaner, brighter and much better appointed than the Ibis, they were even flexible on the rate. Being so close renders a car unecessary, indeed they may charge you for parking it as many hotels near LHR do. Just up the road from Cranebank is a pub called the Jolly Wagonners, yes really! a good place to meet up for commiserations, a well earned beer and to see who gets that call at 6.00 pm! Good luck! |
Buzzy
I am led to believe that it is usually within about a week of the sim ride. Legend has it that you get a phone call if you were successful .... or a letter if you were not successful. Can anyone else confirm that? |
I got a phonecall exactly one week after the sim session, I start in April (yipee!!)
|
Phone call is successfull.

Application
Anyone got any help with the application?
Its the question about the competetive environment facing BA today, how would you as a pilot contribute to improving the performance of the business???? I've got writers block!! |
7G
if you look through the job description for pilots, on the BA website, you will come across plenty of the type of stuff they are looking for.... |
Yes, "Superman" just about sums it up.....

Sector 7G,
In response to your question: ...aboutut the competetive environment facing BA today, how would you as a pilot contribute to improving the performance of the business???? 1. ON-TIME PERFORMANCE: Increasingly an issue amongst airlines. Even league tables are published comparing all scheduled airlines and all charter airlines. What can you do to contribute to this? Driving the turn-around. Ensuring duties completed in order to push-back on time etc. etc. 2. FUEL POLICY: Again, quite a hot potato really. As you know, carrying extra fuel around costs erm, more fuel = money! Will you always want to take half a tonne extra just for the sake of it? Or are you prepared to take PLOG fuel when practical. Remember though that operational considerations will rule! Are you prepared to calculate using en-route alternates?! Lots to talk about really. There's plenty more too but these really are the main topics - but everybody else will give these too! Just tell them what they want to hear! Best of luck, LOC :ok: |
i recently attended day one and have been invited back to day 2 sim ride after i take my IR sometime this or next week? Is it recommended to take my MCC course first - since it says a lot of the sim ride is mcc orientated, would they take it into consideration - since the only instrument flying i have done so far is geared towards single pilot operation....
Also does anyone know what the chances of progressing to get a job are after getting through day 1? |
BA's medical questionaire
Just a quick question for those of you who have got an offer from BA. Are BA's eyesight requirements still tougher that the Class 1 medical requirements?? If so what are they currently?
I know that they used to be but wondered if that is covered on the medical "questionaire" that BA now send out... any feedback would be greatly appreciated! GSB:ok: |
there are no questions about this on the form, only very few simple things and you have to send a copy of your medical.
|
Cheers Dino
The reply is much appreciated, hope you enjoy yourself at BA |
I know of someone else who had problems with the BA recruitment website last week. Call them (BA recruitment, not the main website people) - they were helpful in the case that I know of.
|
Anyone else who has been for a sim ride like to comment on how the day went? How they felt they did or how much pressure was on them? How helpful was the assessor? did he keep on throwing things until you broke down or was it very civilised? I have a sim in a few weeks and any more info would be appreciated!
Happy landings:D |
There must be someone? :{
|
There are a couple of replies to exactly the same post you wrote under BA Reapplying in T&E forum. Have you looked?
