In my, rather long now, history of job applications with BA, I have received one interview invitation after 6 days, another after after 23 days and a PFO after 12 days :} So, current waiting time for a reply seems quite usual. I think I wouldn't draw any conclusions on the outcome of the application based on it, nor would I bother the recruitment dept. with calls yet...

applied 3 weeks today and just received email saying i will be called for assessment as soon as a new batch of slots released

FrankAbagnale 11th Aug 2011 15:55

Fiesler02 11th Aug 2011 16:03

Yesterday I received the interview invitation e-mail.
At the moment no slots available though.
Turboprop time only. :ok:
Good luck for those still waiting!

As a complete aside, are the A318 trips to JFK biddable as a Junior on the Airbus fleet? Or should I get my coat?

;-)

Bugger, meant to put this in one of the other threads.

Hi Guys

I recently attended Day 1 selection (this week).

I was in the hold-pool in 2008.

In 2008 I got a "well done" phone call the morning after the first day's assessments. This year they have said that you will get an e-mail within 5 working days with a "yes" or "no".

Does anybody know if you are likely to still get a positive response even after a couple of days?

I'm inpatient and want to know if not hearing the next day is a bad sign (I don't think the interview went that well!!)

Cheers

YYZ_Instructor 11th Aug 2011 17:44

Time has nothing to do with the result.
Hang in, many got the e-mail days later that were positive.

goaroundnow 11th Aug 2011 18:08

Thanks

If anyone's interested, this round of assessments is identical to what has been reported.

That is:

1) Interview
2) Group Exercise
3) Computer Capacity Test
4) Numerical and Verbal Reasoning

Cheers

26 days and still no reply.

I wonder how they are sorting through the applications. I must have been one of the first to apply but still haven't heard. Has anyone that applied before the Sunday 17th still not heard or am I the only one?

Thanks.

Garba51 11th Aug 2011 18:33

To you UN614

I applied not on the 17th but on the 18th, and no reply so far, maybe they organize by family name alphabetic order, in this case, I'll be one of the last to get a reply :p

Dream Driver 11th Aug 2011 20:49

Application sent 3 days ago and good news received today :D

Guys,

For what its worth, and I have been accused on another thread of having

an expert opinoin about anything and everything and will give it with authority and conviction.
:ok:
but from the horses mouth those interviewing this week who are successful can expect a sim session end of Oct beginning of Nov to be in the hold pool in mid Nov and expect courses end of Mar 1012.

Therefore those in the pool now, can expect courses before that time. You will be fished out in the order that you went in unless BA want something particular i.e. a specific TR then you may be fished out early. Most peeps will be going SH.

Regards

ps: Also, of the 800 pilots BA are looking to recruit by 2016, 140 have already been selected since recruitment reopened last year. So there are 660 places left.

8 days and still waiting.... :-|

dream-driver: what's your background? are you already bus rated?

Fancy Navigator 12th Aug 2011 08:43

There will be no age limit, at least not printed one! I think?
It is easy for them to work out how old you are, or what nationality you are, from the application, even if they don't ask for it explicitly...They just have to see when (and where) you have been to high school, possibly uni....

Hi, if anyone's got a Sep date that's tricky and would like to swap pm me

goaroundnow 12th Aug 2011 15:16

Hi

Has anybody who's been assessed this week heard anything yet?

Cheers

Jumbo2 12th Aug 2011 15:31

Been assessed this week and waiting. During the Q&A session they said 5-7 working days.

Dihaz 12th Aug 2011 18:18

Goaroundnow,

Just to confirm, what questions did they ask in the interview anything like 'why you'd like to work for BA'?

Best of luck!

goaroundnow 12th Aug 2011 19:28

Hi

The interview questions were as previously posted on this thread.

Mine were phrased in various forms but basically included

- Why BA
- Commercial things affecting BA
- BA fleet plans
- Risk
- Leadership
- Decision making
- Behaviour adjustment
- CRM
- Delivering sensitive news

etc

Dihaz 12th Aug 2011 20:10

Cheers Goaroundnow,

Did they mind non-aviation examples for the answers?
Oh and were there no technical questions?

Thanks!
