Thomsonfly

Looking for info on the rosters with Thomsonfly. I am interested if the job would allow a commuting lifestyle ie do you get blocks of days off? Stby's etc. Thanks

le loup garou 29th Aug 2004 10:07

Hi guys,

May I also jump on that bandwagon, any info is greatly appreciated.

Regards

I am in the same situation. Any info?

LVL CHG 30th Aug 2004 19:24

How many sectors do you tend to fly per day? Do you have an Easyjet or an FR-like work pattern (5 on 3 off or 4 on 2 off with either earlies or lates)? What is the estimated Captain upgrade time?

Looks like you have pretty good destination variety. Seems like a great gig.... How do you like living near Coventry (cheap or expensive)?

Come on T-Fly pilots, this has been asked a couple of times, always without reply!

Shed some light! :)

The rosters are great. I live away from Cov and get ample opportunity to go home (5 on followed by 4-6 off). Stability is pretty much absolute (one change in last 3 months). Rosters do mean either an early start (usually before 0600) or a late start (1400 ish) and 3 times a week there are deep night flights (enough pilots though so this comes around very seldom). Either way still get loads of time off between duties and have yet to be rostered for minimum rest. Mostly 2 sectors a day, though there are a couple of 4 sector days.

A friendly, professional and fun bunch to work with. Expansion plans are pretty intersting too. :D :ok:

Ditto what said Fawlty, plus no standbys either. We do have blank days on your roster, which in theory can be assigned for work, but in practice this is highly unusual.

We have inhreted BAL mainline rostering practices, which make it very difficult and/or expensive for them to change our duties, therefore ensuring roster stability.

Flexible working is great!

Roidelstein 8th Sep 2004 11:05

Thanks Fawlty and 2MP, very useful information.

Any chance of also giving an idea of after-tax monthly pay for year 1 for an average month? How does this compare to mainline? Also, other perks such as staff travel or discounted TUI holidays etc?

How much is taken out of salary to pay for the type rating?

Thanks again for the info.

toro01 9th Sep 2004 12:30

Does anybody Know how many of us in the holding pool?

KingKool 9th Sep 2004 23:27

About 60 ish in the holding pool I think. About 15 of which are 737 type rated already. Probably called up for jobs dependent upon how well you did in the sim.

On a different note has anyone any ideas on where this 3rd base will be? or when itīs being announced?

Thanks in advance for any replies.:D

Charles Web 11th Sep 2004 07:40

Bournemouth is a strong rumour (Major Base).

Roidelstein 14th Sep 2004 08:32

So anyone offered a course yet? (Type-rated or non type-rated)

KingKool 16th Sep 2004 02:01

Cheers Charles any ideas on when it might become official?

Thanks.

Does anyone knows which routes are going to be flown by Thomson out of Doncaster???

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between Britannia contract and Thomson???

Cheers

Hi all,

I've got an assessment on 29 Oct, which I understand is for Doncaster.

Am considering going to the open day next week. Has anyone been to one (open day) already? Is it worth it?

Also, has anyone got salary info for FOs?

Thanks

Andy

Monitorverticalspeed 8th Oct 2004 14:25

I'm there on the 29th as well, think salary for FO is 38200 plus duty pay 9 p/hr.
