Are you suggesting that your midland captain friend would have been better off being left 'in the lurch' (as many with other companies were post 911!)
Or do you think that BA should be congratulated for honouring ALL their job offers at a time when the industry was in meltdown?
As far as 'beware what they offer you at interview' is concerned. Either you want to join the company, or you don't. Nobody forces you to accept!!!
Presumably if you are unhappy you will take your Airbus rating (for which you were not bonded!) to somebody better!
