Why doesn't he just pay his staff proper salaries instead of this kind of thing and stop talking about Concorde which is a total non starter and just an excuse for free publicity and BA bashing. Everytime I see him on TV with that sickly half grin regardless of what he is talking about it makes me cringe.

No island for Air 2000, but our three executive directors have given themselves an 85% pay rise over the last two years. I can't tell you what a warm glow it gives us to know that we are being run by a group of people who deserve such a level of renumeration. Indeed, many of us are ashamed that we took our full 2½% out of the company's accounts last year. Thankfully, they've come to their senses this year and offered us less than the rate of inflation.

Maybe he's bought it so he can get close to and reward a select few? Used to invite the crew over to Necker sometimes and have morale boosting parties didn't he? I think his wife and lad had a good time too.
