Paying for a Job?
Anybody out there can shed some light on the following operations :
Eagle Jets International : where you pay for rating and block of hours on type...
where you based? do you get paid while flying? any bad experiences...
Alpine Air Express : where you 'buy' your own a/c and fly on contract ...
Any info appreciated

I think all these schemes are waaaaay too expensive. Just do the math. Provided you would where offered a job afterwards would be a different thing.
A pilot with 500TT and 200 some hours in heavy jet will raise eyebrows. There are alot of management types that do not approve for this route. Still if you have the money to spend and want to do something different go for it.
A friend of mine who used to fly for fun and made his money elshewhere took a 3 months vacation and completed this type of program just to see if he wanted to fly for living. He quit his job and now flies for living.

I agree its a lot of pulas, but the situation is catch 22, dont get hired without a rating, cant get a rating if you dont get hired.
So next best alternative is too go Eagle Jet way? 100 hrs on Lear 24 or similar will cost you 21000usd = 210 usd per hour...maybe I'm still a bit naive when it comes to jet time, but that doesnt sound too bad. Pay more here for C208 per hour, or F406 or B1900....
Considering Ive heard that while you fly those hours, you get paid by whichever company you fly for?

I think the pay is very low and just enough to survive and the work conditions are very degraded...
I also think it would be worthless buying hours on a single pilot airplane ops if you are to recieve an F/O training without an actual type rating.

Do you know how much you get paid? Where bases are for different ops?
As far as I know the Lear you get a type rating for, SIC?
The bigger jets you get FAA part 121 type rating, thats for the b727, 732. The 733, B747 & A320 you get Appendix H type rating? thats just on simulator? but still get the hours ...?
Also available is A321, A300 for 25, 100, 250 hours blocks

just ask for a sample contract from either eagle jet or tyler aviation or asg jet for that matter and see all the clauses they have.
I think that will help a lot in shaping your opinion about these programs.
