So just to clarify:

Before attending the in person assessment (which is believed to replace the maths exam) you must do a test at home. Does this imply that you proceed to the in person test regardless of the results of your test at home?

I wouldn’t over think it. They have simply condensed three days worth of assessment into two days. The first day you do the soft skills, the second day you do a sim. There’s a small online element prior to attending your first day. They say they can opt to get you to do it in person if they need to make sure your results were legit but I doubt it would ever come to that.

Anybody in the Holdpool who completed all the stages heard anything since reapplying for the Holdpool?

We have received your application for the role of Direct Entry Pilot - First Officer (holdpool).

or maybe we won’t hear? this just means we are back in the hold pool - it wasn’t too clear

To those who have done day one; how long did it take them to get back to you about sims, PFO, etc?

Does anyone have any more info on this? I’m really unsure what my current status is!

Presumably you were in the holdpool before covid. If so… you still are.

The “reapplication” for holdpool was merely a collation of details.

I hope that’s true. However the ‘collation of details’ required me to answer similar questions to that in the original application (e.g. how would you assist BA in texting reaching their strategic goals?) and upload a CV. If they just wanted to collate details, why didn’t they just ask us for our details?

And after submitting this ‘application’ it is now just showing ‘submitted’ when I log in. There is nothing that shows the ‘application’ was successful.

Yes mine was the same,What has attracted you to apply for the role of Pilot with British Airways?
  • Specifically, why British Airways, and why now?
  • What skills and qualities will you bring to the role?
  • How will you, as a Pilot for British Airways, help deliver our operational and strategic objectives?

However the same email telling us to apply for the holdpool also said we are now extended for 12 months so I assume there was no pass/fail for that as we didn’t hear anything and that was a month ago?

They didn’t ‘just ask’ for your details because applicants from before covid had been archived. This is a far simpler way of getting all of the right ducks into the right rows.

The job posting also announced that this year the company would welcome the A350; I'm sure the recruitment team would appreciate you contacting them and pointing out the error of their ways.

Why do they need me to answer the questions posted above ‘to get their ducks in a row’?

It’s clearly not just me who is confused by this process.

How about: A standard template for recruitment has been used - rightly or wrongly. I strongly suggest you contact the recruitment team via the email address provided and voice your concerns to them. Best of luck.

With the grim financial news this evening that's only expected to get worse heading towards the new year, I do wonder if this will influence BA's recruitment plans

I wouldn’t worry about that. With the pound sitting where it is we will soon be the place to be for inbound tourists looking to stretch their $. People will marvel at how reasonable a £7 pint is!

Seosan whilst I hope the inflation part is wrong I do hope there is a need!

I've still not heard anything about assessment dates becoming available, no news since the "you're on the assessment list" email a month ago

Assessments are, and have been, ongoing for all stages since the application opened.

Then I'm guessing I'm fairly low priority on the assessment list? Has anyone else been waiting over a month? I was considering writing them an email about an update but decided I'd rather keep a low profile
