Emirates Job openings!

What’s happening? By the amount of metal that’s parked on DWC I can’t imagine they are short on crews. Didn’t they terminate a lot of pilots due covid?

My own view. I don’t own or work for any sort of training organisation. I reckon about 15% of pilots have either retired early or left the industry for good. Fed up with being screwed around and COVID was the final straw. Very few youngsters in training.

EK can probably see a massive shortage around 18 months from now. Trying to get a head start. How many pilots that got dumped will go back after they were booted out of their jobs and homes at the same time?

Nowhere does it say that there are jobs on offer, just details different roles in the company.

Only the national cadet programme appears to be open.

Housing allowance significantly less compared to what it used to be and only paid out if you buy! Would anyone buy under the current circumstances, knowing that one could be sacked anytime again, facing potential huge losses on an investment?! Don’t know 🤷🏼‍♂️

800-900 hours?!? What about the factorisation of hours when you do ULR flights! You’ll end up doing way more than 1000 hours effectively…

Anyway… They will have probably no probs finding enough people reapplying!

And that was exactly their calculation right from the beginning.

Good luck

EK are not looking for any external candidates at the moment or any time soon.

They have made quite clear that they want to offer jobs to those made redundant during the covid crisis.

That’s a 1200 pilots (Airbus) and a few hundreds (Boeing) backlog that will take months/years to clear depending on demand.

Most below 55 will go back. That’s my 2c.

All the information now listed on the EK Careers site has been there throughout the pandemic.

I know several who want to come back and several who don't.

Factoring was done away with many years ago...

An email went out at 8 am DXB time Tuesday morning inviting flight crew interested in rejoining Emirates to register their interest on the Emirates Group Careers website.

"Flown at least 150 hrs within the last 12 months at time of joining on an aircraft with MTOW ≥ 10T"

Well if that requirement remains then surely it rules out 90% of unemployed pilots....

Probably in the beginning it will be former employees only and the recency rule will not apply for obvious reasons.

At this moment, the pilot application options for Captain/Fast Track/FO are not open on the Emirates Career website.
The only open application is for Cadet Pilots.
