BA APS pension discretionary award

If any other retired members have received a letter regarding opting out, of the above, because they have Enhanced Protection (Dormant Primary) could they drop me an email please.

I am unsure of how to proceed and can not find anyone who understands the tax implications.

Alan.

Alan. You should have received a letter from BA detailing the implications and a form to be returned by 30th Sep.
Your choices are to Opt Out of the discretionary payment and retain your Enhanced Protection.
The default position is that if you do not Opt Out then the discretionary payment will be made and you will lose your Enhanced Protection.
BA Pension now located in Waterside.
Good luck

Alan and Phantom4,

Thanks for posting. If I had not read your comments I would have been blissfully unaware that there was a default position which would have resulted in my losing my Extended protection, dormant primary costing me many thousands I expect.

No leter received but BA Pensions advised that they would send out a replacement as a matter of urgency. That was 8 days ago and still nothing received.
