Waiting time for BFS base at Ryanair?
I know that Jet2 and Easy have BFS based crew, but I understand the wait time is quite long for BFS at those two companies.
Can anyone tell me how long I would be waiting for BFS if I were to join Ryanair?

The other thing to consider is that they will shortly be switching to a seniority based transfer system, rather than date of request as it is currently. So in theory you could be byspassed by anyone who has been in the company longer who wants to go to BFS.

With the new system will they take into account your seniority in the company or in the current position? I mean, will a Direct Entry Captain who joined Ryan in January 2018 have better seniority than a Cadet who joined in January 2014 and did the upgrade in February 2019?

Well , in most of the companies I have worked for they had what was called administrative seniority list (date you join the company, in whatever position) and technical seniority list (seniority in your actual position). The first one is used for cases such as redundancies,... and the second one for base transfers. It was my understanding that in Ryanair it’s going to be like this

I'm not a Captain, but as you have to move out of base for the command upgrade at Ryanair, there is not much point moving to BFS as a FO.
Thanks for the information anyway, obviously I would be waiting just as long for BFS in Ryanair as I would at Jet2 or Easy.

Are FR abandoning their policy of base transfer roulette or phone the right person on a Tuesday in STN and hope for best when you need to move out of Brindisi? If so, GOOD!
