'Sel Employment Loophole' may be closed in the UK

According to the Guardian, one of the options Phillip Hammond is considering for today's budget is closing this loophole. If freelance workers have just one employer, they will be considered as employees and should pay full income tax and national insurance.

That has long been the case but difficult to enforce as it isin the interest of both the worker and the company to retain the self employed status. With airline Captains in the UK paying 60% tax on the upper part of their income when employed you can see why both sides like the self employed status.
