EZY MXP base living in Rome & commuting to Milano?

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me. I'm hoping to be posted to MXP with EasyJet and I have a question about commuting from Rome. I'm still paying back training loans so looking to keep costs down.

My question is; Is it possible to work out of MXP but live in Rome with EZY? My Dad lives in Rome and for the first little while at least he's open to me living with him to save some cash.

Does anybody else commute from Rome? How convenient is it? Can you save money? Where do you spend nights in MXP?

If you could give me your ideas as to the feasibility of this possibly hair brained plan I'd be super grateful.

Thanks,

Better NAP in your case.
It is one hour hispeed train far away and the cost of living is way cheaper.
MXP is some 5/600 km from Rome.
I don't know if you commute by air with Ezy and it is free, or else, but, IMHO, living in Rome the best base would be NAP.

For the first year you will be on a flexi roster, with no fixed pattern.
Commuting will be very hard, since EZY does not have direct flights from MXP to Rome.

Your options would be buying tickets with Alitalia or Air Italy, on which you would have no discount, or train, also expensive.

Much cheaper to look for a small apartment in MXP area or better a shared apartment. The area is not so expensive.

Even on a 5/4 roster, which you would get after one year, I doubt it would make financial sense to live in Rome. Commuting is doable in general, but only if you stick to the company network for the flights, but this is not your case.

Thanks FT and Dirk maybe NAP would be a better bet. The pizza might be better too in the south? Lol

On a similar note does anyone know a Captain Alabaster with EZY? My uncle used to go to school with him and he thinks he is with EZY in Italy in NAP or MXP.

Cheers again guys.

PM me if you want. I have been based both in MXP and NAP while commuting to Rome.

Cinocav - I'm new to the forum so the higher ups at pprune won't let me PM anyone yet til I am a grown up. Lol

Where are you based now - in your opinion is a MXP base or a NAP base feasible when my FO roster would be sketchy at minimum.

BTW I am looking 6 months in advance so nothing urgent but all thoughts would be super useful.
