Volotea T&C update

Hi,

All that I can found in Internet about Volotea's T&C is pretty old and I was wondering if there has been any update about this company.

I know they are migrating their fleet to the A319.

Thank you!

Short answer: the T&C's are crap. Have seen them myself when applying for this 717/319 PIC gig.

Forget it. Start, typical italian(even that they are spanish), on some crap part time contract(8 months) on lousy pay.

Of course you start on 717(such a useful rating) because they upgrade all their current drivers to 319. Then a couple of years 717 till eventually you might fly the not so shiny 319 eventually as well.

All in all a bad deal, I went to RYR instead.

Good luck. Good chances to get hired thought, they seem really(really, really) needy(got invited immediately after sending my CV for the week after which made me investigate).

Hi,

Some improvements on salaries, but Volotea is and will remain a seasonal airline, so your salary will vary substantially during the year.
Expect 90-100 hrs/month during the summer (June through September) and very low hours during the winter (as low as 30 hrs/month in November or February), especially for FOs (40 hrs/month on average from October till April)
Captains fly more during the winter due to the relatively high amount of "Summer only" captains (around 50 to 70 hours/month)
During the winter you WILL be flying every single Week End

The second officer scheme and its ridiculous wage is an utter disgrace to the profession.
Lots of people are leaving to greener pastures at the moment.

Cons :
-Low salaries in general, especially during the quieter winter months
-Very poor maintenance and aircraft reliability, exacerbating during the summer
- unpaid positionings using trains/taxis for charter ops during the winter
-Very unstable roster
-No seniority
-Useless type rating if you're willing to move
-No union/no rostering agreement(random roster)

Pros (if any) :
-Quick upgrades
-Local contracts/no shady tax arrangements
-OK salary (on paper) during the summer, but you will have to work your ass off
-Very friendly atmosphere at work with colleagues

Salaries for CPTs and FOs (gross) :

-Standby day: 100 €

-Per diem: 50 € (for each duty day)

-Base Salary: (FO Lvl2/FO Lvl1/SFO/CPT) 1280/1600/2000/3600 €
(corresponding to 40 Block Hours, and paid regardless of actual hours flown)

-Flight Pay: (FO Lvl2/FO Lvl1/SFO/CPT) 32/40/50/90 €
(Per Block Hour above 40 hours)

-Layover : 25 € (very rare)

As far as I know you pay the first TR. If they change your type later on then the new TR is paid by the company.

Should be an agency around headhunting for them. At least it was like that last year.

Checked my emails - it was Sigma Aviation. Check their website. Think well (and throw some numbers in the tax calculator) if they are worth it.
