Agree with previous post. A mate of mine flies for them and enjoys both the E170/190 and flying out of LCY. Not a bad first airline and a possible stepping stone to BA (but no guarantee). He likes the night stops. Pay could be better. Better option than Cityjet but that is not surprising.

Staff travel isn't exactly the same as BA. FO's at BACF don't get an annual bookable, just unlimited ID90. Capts get annual bookable but in J class rather than F. That's not how it works at mainline!

Hi guys and thank you very much for your help. According to what you say things look better than other airlines. At least the job is decently paid and I wouldn't mind living in London, although it's expensive. Provided that's the base you get.

Dash, I applied exactly a week before they emailed me. The date I gave you is wrong, the interview will be on the 19th and not the 23rd of Oct. I'm not sure why I got a reply so quick but it may just be very random since the interview is 2 months down the line. I'm sure they'll contact you soon or later.

Iver, you say the pay could be better. Could you give any numbers of you know them?

Dingo, thanks for clarifying. It is still a better deal than most of the other airlines that don't even have ID90s. Would that apply to one or two family members as well?

Again, thank you all.

November Assessment

Hi guys. Just been invited for an assessment at CTC in mid November for direct entry FO.
Has anybody gone through the CTC process and know what lies after that stage of the assessment?
PM me!
Cheers.

Regarding the roster/lifestyle, Can you bid for duties where you are at home every night? Or do you have to tour during your duty?

I don't work for BACF, but I understand that one can request min/max touring, however the word is that crews are worked fairly hard, so I'm unsure as to whether this counts for anything.

You can request for specific trips or days off up to the limit of 5 requests per month, not guaranteed. You can also request max/min night stops. Once the roster is published days off are protected. Outside 14 days of the duty you can be changed from day trips to night stops or vice versa at the companies leisure, without the right to refuse. Within 14 days it is more restricted.

Hope that helps.

Thanks RJ, very useful info. Does anyone have an example roster pattern i.e. 6 on 3 off, followed by 5 on 2 off? Just trying to get an idea how commutable is the commutable roster pattern. Cheers.

There is no stable roster pattern. It really varies from month to month. Only guarantee is after 6 on you get 3 off. You could do 5 on 1 off, followed by 2 or 3 on as long as you have the required days off to keep legal etc.

Thanks for the info RJ. I've noticed BACF and CTC have removed the vacancy for direct entry FO. Any idea if they will be recruiting FO's again next year?

Also are there any expansion moves, be it additional aircraft, routes, bases (anything!) planned for next year?
Just curious about the outlook for 2017...

Cheers!

Are the Embraers in generally good shape? Any word or speculation on a C-Series order? Would make sense after the recent CS100 LCY approach certification. With the CS100, I beleive a lot more range flexibility with LCY to Tel Aviv and Moscow both feasible.
