Shouldn't legality be common to all of the companies?
I'm currenctly passing through the same situation, having to decide between companies. Some pilots I've talked to have chosen O'Connor but it seems more expensive than the others so I can't really understand the advantages after reading the standard text each one of the companies has sent to me by e-mail.
Can anyone clarify me? I would by thankful in advance!

Hey guys
Old Post, but maybe you can help me.
I will join Ryan soon and I don't know which contractor to choose. My base is Malta. The site above is in Chinese (I think).
Do you know where to find some info?
Thank you

Money wise it's always better to be a contractor, but that's the only bright side. The bogus self-employment was found to be illegal some years ago, I thought they've stopped with such practice.

I might jump on this. Does anyone know the contract details for a UK base? Stuck abroad and stifled by a seniority system that has stopped due to COVID, apparently UK base is possible.
Just wondering what the Pay, Sick Pay, Annual Leave policies are as well and how things are there now company wise. Has union recognition made a difference? I guess I would have to move base with an upgrade as well?

Er, yes, it got much worse (for experienced recruits). You mention changing base - yes, and it's worse than that - you will barely move up the Captain list for getting back to a popular base because ex cadets will slide across above you for years. It also reduces your priority for leave within your 1/3 group, though how much effect that has is difficult to guage.
did I also hear that new hires are on a reduced salary, even if you're rated?
