Virgin Atlantic Pilot Numbers

So how are the numbers now since 9/11 ?

Are there still pilots off the books but due to return soon ?

Will they be recruiting in the near future ?

Looks like September perhaps but I doubt it would be on a permanent contract.

Ok, my curiosity stems from recent press reports on new Virgin Atlantic routes. Sunday Times reports they are looking at additional USA destinations. Other reports suggest linking Hong Kong with several ports in Australia as a challenge to Qantas, and as a code sharing option for Virgin Blue ??

Not really a secret, just no real news.

There are still some 25 pilots 'below the line' as far as redundancy is concerned. They will have to be made firm and those made redundant offered their jobs back before any recruiting can take place.

But evidence suggests we could see an 'announcement' made within a couple of weeks.
