Without wishing to be cynical: the one you can get a job with and which doesn't go bust before you retire. All of the above are probably considered good employers in the UK industry.
As for pay, have a look at BALPA's tables of pay scales for the airlines. And lifestyle-wise it depends what you want to do; if you want to fly short-haul, don't apply to Virgin.
Good luck!

Speedbird.
Although you have asked a perfectly relevant and sensible question you could not have been expected to guess at the cynical natureof many ppruners. I suggest that if you want an answer to your question you try something like 'whats the worst airline you ever worked for'. Once you have had a few hundred condemnations you subtract these from the list of all the airlines and the ones with the fewest black marks are your winners!
Just try to factor in that the bitter nature of some ppruners is not representative of the majority who are to a greater or lesser degree quite content with their lot.

It seems as though the "de-regulation blues" has hit the UK. In the early to mid-'80's in the U.S. things were down. But they have somewhat evened out since then.
Hopefully, you all can hang on 'till things get sorted out. Good luck to the BA'ers with the pension thing. Cheers!TC

The nicest airline to work for would have to be .....You Own! That way you only have yourself to blame for crap rosters/ops/management and ultimate financial ruin. But then there would be no pprune!
