This is really interesting piece of information.
When was the break point in time when Wizz went from "desperately needing pilots" to "we have the amount we need"?
Are there any signs they'll be masively needing (much) more pilots in the near future?
4-5 candidates passing till the very end out of group of 20 clearly shows that there isn't any pilot shortage... Or am I wrong?
I'm not in aviation industry (yet); here at the company I work for, our department has got vacant positions for already like 7-14 months with no suitable candidates... There's not a chance there would be 5 people competing to those positions; meanwhile we really need those specialists. That's what I call a shortage and not the case when you have 20 applicants to choose from... Just my $0.02

I've read your previous in this thread about your work at Vilnius base and Wizz experience. Glad you liked this place - I also like my city very much. Quite nice and modern one, with decent salaries and not so big living expenses.
And yeah, I was told by a few people that the "pilot shortage" is a myth but.... I already pulled the trigger to join a flight school.
Reasons for that is our company will be closing the Lithuania site (ironically but due to lack of skilled personnel available in this market ). Since I feel tired from office work (9-18 h) and in general I'm more technical person, so decided to try myself in something what would make my brain crowded a bit more, not 9-6 schedule and technical... Worst case scenario, if I won't be able to find a job at an airline, these will be probably the most excitingly spent two years and great experience... Starting 0-fATPL course on the 10th of June...

100 sectors ? I don’t think so ....40 if u have more than 3500 factorized hours or 60 if u are below that number ...100 sectors even cadets don’t do unless u join as a FO straight to the left seat than is 150.

Depends on the base u are looking for ...BUD,WAW or VIE are gonna keep u waiting for a while before u get it .......based on your experience it should take around one year to get your command ....and that’s optimistic at this moment.Instead u might give a shot joining on “rapid command” But if u do make sure that u are really ready for it.Training is long,exausting and demanding and people do fail.Wizzair has a good training and even though it seems like an “easy pray” jumping to the left seat will make u sweat for it big time, any poor performance won’t be tolerated.PM for more info.

That's it, now there are numerous DECs joining the company from the job market which slowed down even the internal upgrades.

Whats the latest on the hiring, any big news or developments someone can shed light on?
Surely with all the new jets due to start arriving next year they want to be getting a fair few more pilots online.

Good to know. I suspect with all the new deliveries and lots of pilots able to move about they will surely want pilots on the books now to be ready!

Well, I received my negative email today and asked me to reapply in 12 months and reach out to them by email. Since I am not rated and they have no places available for type rating courses until September I guess the timing wasn't on my side this time. The two remaining rated candidates got the job.

Less than 500 totals and about 150 on 737 at a cargo operator. Maybe in 12 months I'll have the requirements to apply as Direct Entry First Officer NTR. The starting pay is a bit higher in that case.

What is a typical schedule like during a standard work period of 14 days on/7 days off? Policy of having late starts the first half followed by early starts the second half? Mix of two and four legs, or days of six short legs as well? Any layovers or always returning to home base?

4 days on 1 available and one standby adds up to 6 days is there a day of after that and back at the 4 days on?

I am in the process of applying with Wizzair as DEC. As the information I get is not very detailed I have some more questions and would be appreciate if you would have some of my Questions answered:
1. As a DEC my Basic Gross Salary is 45000,- €. With the extra's (Landing bonus, Km- bonus etc...) what am I looking at on an average/month Net Salary on a yearly basis? Let's assume Romania Based?
2. 24 Annual Leave days: How do you have to take these, in blocks or as you wish? How log upfront do you have to ask them?
3. If commuting, does the Roster allow you to commute easily with Wizzair flights or ........ ?
I would appreciate any feedback on these topics,

3) Roster can easily allow you to commute, but the best is to pick a base where you have direct flight to, else it can be a hassle to commute via 2 places and spend 12 h in the air. Some bases like OTP have started reverse rostering where you can start from you home base and fly to eg OTP on the positioning day, quite a big improvement for commuters.

2) You can bid for the next year in November the previous year. You can take holiday in blocks as well, of max I belive 14 days in a row, and a week or so during the peak summer season.
3) Roster can easily allow you to commute, but the best is to pick a base where you have direct flight to, else it can be a hassle to commute via 2 places and spend 12 h in the air. Some bases like OTP have started reverse rostering where you can start from you home base and fly to eg OTP on the positioning day, quite a big improvement for commuters.
