The worst in china is Sichuan airline

After years in this area I can tell you that the worst airline in China is Sichuan Airline. Although airplanes are quite good and most of the people working in are nice, the pay that use to be the last, after years not increasing became far even from the penultimate and the schedule that use to be 3 on 2 off became first 4 on 2 off and lately 5 on 36h off, with only overlay flights, sleeping home maybe 6/7 nights a month. Everybody is running out....I already did
Just make other choices if you wish to join China

To be honest at the beginning wasn't that bad, but now looks like the Chinese crews get the good schedule and the expats are completely destroyed...
I think that Chinese airlines have a good potential but they should open their eyes first....
for any questions don't hesitate to ask

Unfortunately there's no way to get our licence released..... So it's impossible to change for another Chinese airline

At your suggestion to ask a question?
Can you be more specific about what you are on about?

China OWNS most expat pilots

I saw an advertisement for one of the many Chinese airlines and the aid said " we own the most expat pilots" so maybe they were not kidding.

Good luck in China.

Hi Local,
I just left, the situation was getting worse and worse. They don't respect the contract, deadhead flights are not mentioned and they were increasing dramatically in addition to that, they let you do split duties witch i think are unsafe and illegal. The feeling is that they want to get rid of all expats....but they still call them for interviews....
Just ask if you need more answers.
happy landings

Sisio for the licence there might be a way to export it.....ask to your colleagues, maybe mexican. By the way more people are leaving even because it looks like they don't count as flight hours some simulator time (the contract says should be counted)

When you fly in China , your license belongs to the company. So , if you leave you have to get a release letter. It`s up to the company to give it or not.

As far as I know if you comply with your contract to the end , they will provide you but....don`t take it as assumed.

By the way. I just talked with a friend of mine whose husband flies for Tianjin airlines and it is pretty much the same topper described.

5 days out of home and 1,2 off.

SF AIRLINES Shenzhen are offering Foreign Captains residence contracts if you want, with 4 days off a month according to their ad in Flight Intl.

Sounds safe to me................

A-3twenty, it used to be like that, but since it's not mentioned on the contract basically they can't. People are starting to move before the end of the contract, actually many already did (with the help of a lawyer in other chinese companies), even because it's not sure that after 3 years of contract they release you....so why wait

Just an update, they finally did an upgrade of the contract, but it's worth it only for the full time, the part time side is still the last one in China. They also added something interesting (for them). "Just" 50000$ of penalty if you leave before the 3rd year....unfortunately is almost impossible to resist 3 years with this pirates.
They have no idea on how to keep people.
Much better company around China rather than Sichuan.
Have fun guys!!
