Question Unions

As we all live in interesting times, I wonder who is a member of what union. Is BALPA the only route, it is rather expensive. Does anyone have any experience of TGWU or similar mainstream unions?

javelin--Having been a member of ALPA(TWA) and now APA(AA), it seems that unions are run by the same type of individual and the vast majority of the pilot group is totally non-participative(is that a word?).

Generally, it is extremely difficult to replace one union with another--and, in the case I observed, very little changed.

Just my experience.TC
