There's no need to be coy - BALPA have put the full details out via their Facebook page. Sounds awful - seriously impressed with the still cheerful Jersey call signs .

Good luck ladies and gents.

So coy all of you. What is the fact you cannot name?

Here on "Airports Airlines and Routes" there's far more facts.

This forum always surprises, both for its ability to be quick to chide and slow to bless and its random reticence to bring facts forward.

Manchester, Birmingham and Southampton bases will continue. The rest are not featured in Flybe's future.

There I've said it. Jehovah.

Wrong on that count I'm afraid. The plan is to operate 7 bases.

Mad jock. That is certainly a rumour flying around the bases but until it's confirmed it's only a rumour of course.

Well I suspect it will do what they want.

I presume most of the TUPE and high salary pilots are on that fleet.

I also would like to add that I haven't forgotten the Cabin crew and engineers at the closing bases. In some ways this will affect them more than flight deck.

Flybe is closing six bases in the UK as part of its cost-cutting plan, the airline has announced.

Bases at Aberdeen, Guernsey, Inverness, Isle of Man, Jersey and Newcastle are due to close as the airline looks to save GBP£85 million and shed 500 jobs.

The lead base at Exeter is to face the biggest number of job losses with 116 proposed redundancies, with Belfast City next with 52 job losses.

Saad Hammad, who took over as the the airline's chief executive in August, said: "I know that these proposals are creating great personal uncertainty, but they are necessary to secure a long-term future for Flybe and I am grateful to the various union and staff representatives for the very constructive manner in which we have been able to commence the consultation process."

(Reuters)
So if these 6 close, EXT and BHD continue with MAN BHX and SOU which are the other two to make 7?

I'm sure all those Flybe customers that make up >90% of SOU's passenger no's are going to love flying to AGP, ALC and FAO in a Q400.

Surely it would cost more to break into leases on fairly new aircraft (esp. the E175's) than to keep flying them....unless the leases can be sold on for a profit, of course??

Airlines don't want experience, they want cheap crew so that means cadets.
Chippy firer is no different, no room there for experienced and some of the best pilots in the UK, ex flybe.

Wycombe, the jets will still fly on the 'sunshine routes', the 195's will make a reappearance next summer.

Hatchet Hammad wants rid of the 175 order. He is so much a beancounter it's almost laughable how he fails to grasp the whole jet vs prop debate. He has absolutely no idea of customer service.

God help those left in a very exposed and drab flybe, he will finish off and destroy what could be a great airline. French/Strong/Rutter started the rot, this idiot will kill the company. How anyone falls for this guys forked tongue & bullying is beyond me....

Leg,

I respectfully disagree with almost everything you say. The restructuring is thoroughly necessary - it's a shame that the previous management didn't have the wherewithal to make the necessary changes. The only problem is that the staff are left carrying the can for the previous management's failure.

The "Sun Routes" from SOU have historically poor yields. Wouldn't surprise me if they were the first to go.

If you had spoken to any of the Embraer pilots in SOU you might not have written that.

Speed restriction, I deal with the here and now and look forward, not the past.

As I said, the 195's will return next summer, I never mentioned SOU, the company have contracts they must fulfil.

Hearing there are some bases where the entire quota of jet crews are being made redundant? Any truth?
