Ryanair Line Training
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows what the current waiting time is for commencement of line training after completion of the type rating (both for captains and FO's).
Cheers

There is no Type Rating Course for DEC in Ryanair. Only for Cadets.
DEC run only OCC and they do not wait more then week to start line training. Mostly one week wait is necessary due to STN being only base for DEC line training. Few, very few went to DUB.
Cadets wait up to three weeks due to priority for DEC. Also Cadets go to many diferent bases for line training, but waiting time is longer.

We had a direct entry Captain jump seating this week. He is just about to start line training, was not type rated and said that the rating cost was being deducted at 5 euros per hour.
Not sure the pool of JAA licence holders is too large, but once EASA kicks in I'm not sure you'll even be able to validate it....
Waiting time for CU line training is nothing. Max normal 4 days off, which you need after the sim. Unable to tell you waiting time for FO's....

I took a Cadet on the jumpseat this week that in 4 weeks had only done around 14 sectors and was not even safety pilot released yet, was paying for accommodation and commuting to different bases during this time
lean christmas for him I feel

I think "chance" is the word for line training... It all depends where you are based, I did roughly 40 sectors in 3 weeks (in November), another 30ish planned in December with a non-regular roster 3on/3off/2on/2off/1on/5off/4on etc... All of them in the same base. Now some guys from my TR course are having a lot of standbys (Dublin mostly), flying twice a week if lucky.

No speed, if you are talking about cadet training, then any base can be used for that. Each base has LTC's based there, and can do it along with the final check. For upgrade training, you can only train in Dub, STN, BGY and maybe Hahn although not 100% on that one.
