Air Pacific

Will be skype interview. They can send you few notes about interview from previous candidates. Don't expect the feedback soon, did mine 3 months ago and still nothing.
Good luck.

According to three friends who are there, Air Pac is slowing down their hiring. There was a fourth friend who interviewed in June, and is still waiting to hear about a class date.

That said, don't give up your present position just yet.

So Air Pac can offer you a position solely on a skype interview...? no need for a sim etc , I have sent them lette4rs of reccomendation and also said I can send my latest LPC/OPC comments and line check which are all good reports , I heard that they need allot of pilots for the 737 as so many have left and allot of the locals are going to the 330 when it arrives , any idea of pay roster etc and do they look after accomadation , I would love to go and work in the pacific region , also I am not currently flying.

Skype interview, followed by aptitude test via computer. Then the decision is made. A330 is delayed for a bit, and as related to me by my three friends, they are not as short on the boeing chaps as they were in the beginning of the year. A bunch of guys sodded off to Air New Guinea for better money and terms.

tnaks for the info JNS , do you know what to expect for the skype interview IE any 737 tech questions etc etc , hate those online aptitude assesments , so I should expect to wait quite a while if successfull for a course date.....??? , you say some have moved to Air New Guinea , is the pay not great with Air Pac...?

I don't recall the exact amount of pay. However pilots a paid a daily rate when they work. The pilot is responsible for income taxes. That said the daily pay is gross. Pilots are responsible for their own travel expenses to Air Pacific Gateway cities too. It works well for retired airline employees with travel benefits.

Sent 2 times my application but never been contacted.

I think it's because of my 737 experience is on Classic only (but more than 4000 hours!)

Thumbs up

Results know within a couple of days. BUT, you will have to get used to 'Pacific Time' if you are seriously considering Air Pac. As with everything over there, they may know the results but wouldn't think to call you to let you know. It will come up in some other conversation when they happen to mention "oh yes, you passed the aptitude test", weeks later while you've been nervously awaiting some news. It's just how they are, and if you can get used to the "tribal knowledge" way of having to find out everything yourself, you'll fit right in!

ATR is a different operation , pacific blue I think skype interview is fine just questiobns about yourself what kind of flying etc any accidents criminal records..... online tests are reading comprehensions and a few maths tests some memory tests and a personality test you cannot prepare for it apart from practicing the maths test examples they send you.
