Recomended 737NG captain companies
What is the likelihood of a high timed (6000k+) FO landing a detect entry captain position?
I have several thousand hrs of pic on large Turboprops but less than 500hrs command on a 737NG. I've been flying a 757-767 as FO for the past 3yrs and captain of a 737 for a few months. Unfortunately the company I've been working for is going bancrupt yet again.
How would i go about landing a job as Captain on a 737 ?
Thanks

From: last time I looked I was still here.
Discuss it and try to get a commitment/expectation of 6 months F/O and fast track to LHS after 1st OPC, assuming you shine and fit in. If they need captains and they like you after 6 months it could work out.

Recurrent
Question for contract/reg wizards. I am typed on B737classic, only have time on the 300. Since my airline shut down in 2007 have not flown a Boeing, just a little corporate jet. For recurrent, I need to make some money I guess somewhere in Asia, shouldn't I be able to do this on the 737NG? I talked to I guess a saleslady of some sim school she tried to sell me two courses one rec737classic and then a differences which seems together a little expensive. Anybody know about these things? I read through 61regs but can't really find the answer. What I would like to do is just the 737NG check and get currency that way afterall it is the same type
Gracias

Don't waste your time and money as most carriers especially in Asia want recency in the airplane ie actual aircraft within 12 months. Do your research before spending large sums on useless training. Also the Sun Express job in Turkey now is only accepting JAR ATPs. Best of Luck.

Some chinese airlines did offer jobs to classic pilots, offering a conversion course, but not anymore as far as i m aware.
Airlines in china need currency up to 18 months,i think they wont stretch it any longer.

Frustrating isn't it.....
I'm a high time 757 guy,,, did the 767 differemces/sim ride/sim check but can't get a sniff of interest from any 767 operator.
I thought it was easier to fly in the sim as well !
I kind of wonder why its been written '757/767' on my LPC for the past 10 years....
