New BRK contract: who's signing?
I hear lots are not signing this 1800 era sort of slavery contract, that BRK has legal problems with it in Germany and Italy and that many are now ready to jump ship.
A line trainer at my base told me he has never written so many reference letters like these days.
Disgraceful.
What's the situation at your base?

Resignation period
It depends what juridisdriction is valid: The "brobation" period, shorter resignation time of either party, could be anywhere between three to twelfe months and the resignation period would be somewhere between one week and up to one month.
If the last part of the contract states a clause that this contract was produced "to the best of our knowledge" and if later part of the contract found be "wrong" (illigal?) the rest remains in force, both parties signed it. Then both parties have to fight at court about it and until the final ruling of a final judicial decision is made there is one party cashing in your earned bucks: The Lawyer, if he needs more supply out of your account he might be able to talk you into a appeal and round two of the court battle with open end is on.
RYR is not known as a peaceful employer, so you have to fight for it.

the new contract is catching a few people! some are signing under the pretense of their situation, i.e. fear of loosing their position come the end of their current contract. Although this is to be expected, providing its the minority then its good news. If the minority were the people not signing, then we're pretty much screwed because this contract will soon be widespread. Anyone whose not been offered it and sitting thinking this doesn't affect them, then think again... some point in the near future, you will be on their radar!!
I suggest anyone who wishes to protect themselves, join IALPA and commit to the fight for unity. With an association between us and management, we can collectively accept or decline future proposals, opposed to all this nonsense just now...take it or your out the door malarky!
At the end of the day this is our job and we all want a good place to work. I don't want to move to the middle east like most of our ex colleagues but if the decline continues then the appeal becomes greater. I only hope this year is our year!!
