USA Allowances

Hello PPRuNers!

A quick question and curiosity about meals for Flight Deck crews, specially directed to domestic operators.

How is the meal allowance paid for in layovers? Do you have one?

Since I don't know much about US regulations, I'll leave the question like this for now.

Thanks in advance!

At my company we are paid a tax free per diem rate. We get $1.80 per hour that we are on duty. It's not great. It works out at about $144 for a four day trip....barely enough to cover the cost of meals down route.
