Emirates Flying Lifestyle : How is it really ?
I have recently visited my friends who work in the middle east (EK/EK), and was very impressed with their living conditions, and very simply put, financial bottom line. They didn't seem to complain of their T&Cs, but then I read horror stories...
I'm looking to find more facts about Emirates : bidding, rostering, how credit is computed (is your bunk time counted towards credit, for instance), the type of flights you do, the mix you get, what a nice trip looks like vs an awful one, a nice roster vs an awful one, morale, CRM, general tiredness, attitude of the company towards minor mishaps, or a sub-par sim check, pressure during the sim, during SEP. Etc...
Thanks in advance :-)

I am pretty sure that I know who GDBZ is in real life! His nom de plume and location and my guess at his age would all stack up.
If I am correct he is certainly not a management stooge, although it does surprise me tofind out that he is thinking of leaving his present company, where he has been for about 6 years I would guess.
[GBDZ - or should I say WDBZ? - pm me if you like]

Thanks, Aussie and Topbunk.
Yes, I'm not in management, and I think Topbunk's got me down all right, lol.
I'm just looking for some precise info, mostly about rostering and lifestyle at Emirates.
I work for a great carrier, and had never thought of ever moving until last month, really.
I'm just trying to find whether that's a move for me, that really is all. I think I know what I will gain. What will I lose ?
All the little things I listed in my post would, I don't think, interest a manager anyway. We're talking about getting facts, that's all, and I'm sure it'll be very useful to many other pilots looking at EK.
