Horizon Air of Seattle breaks new contract

In close alignment with it's past policy, Horizon Air has sidestepped the new contract allowing pilots to modify their schedule during two Schedule Adjustment Periods prior to the new bid being finalized. In a dramtic display of power and willful negligence towards it's pilot group and new contract, in addition to displaying the complete incompetence and weakness of the Teamsters 1224 Union, the Company has frozen all schedule adjustments by pilots for the first five days of the bid, citing an inability to cover all trips due to lack of staffing, all while posting record profits and asking for a 5% pay reduction by all Captains and First Officers. Recent news has seen 401K contributions decreased by nearly 50%, among many other benefit cuts and slashes, in addition to the "selling" of the 70 seat RJ's to SkyWest(scabs) who are now flying them on Alaska Air and Horizon Air's routes out of our gates. If you are wise, you will STAY AWAY from Horizon Air(Seattle/Portland), and get out of the airline business altogether!

A U.S regional breaking their contract with the pilots, you don't say?

Shocking to say the least.

Pilots are leaving in droves, forcing them to start hiring this fall, probably. It's a great place NOT to work.

Saying that a regional airline is not a great place to work is like saying that water is wet.
