Captplaystation (apt name?), you are wrong, and you know you are son.
The said airline (I will not give them the publicity they crave by naming them) are, and have always been based not of this island, irrespective of what base or bases they have now or in the past, so your point is without merit. Balpa had to tread carefully, supporting IALPA sure, but they could not be seen to be taking the lead. The top at said airline was spoiling for them to do more so he could give them a right kicking in the courts, not to mention the press which he can twist round his little finger because the press love the little .

Although British Midland (as was) started it (selling type ratings on jets), that other lot took it to a whole sad new level. Its all over for this industry I fear...

Leg,

Baffled mate, I thought the Harpies would be the "not of this island " mob you were referring to, can't figure out who else has been selling TR's en- masse, with a large UK involvement ? ? you got me there ? ?

If you trawl back through a thread several years ago " How did u choose your user name" you will find it was ( & occasionaly between contracts still could be ) an apt "nome de plume", if I flew Scarebuses rather than Seattles finest I guess it would have even more relevance given how the industry perceives our current status.
RE BALPA and wee Micky, they just weren't up for a fight. They much prefer to spend the members dosh on battles that are easily won, than rattle the lions cage, like I said, lack of cojones when most needed (for everyones sake, because what happens in Air O' Leary eventually filters down to us all, so they let down the pilot workforce /profession as a whole, by their dithering ) Enough employees were, p1ssed off & on a UK contract, post Buzz and the acquisition of the UK AOC ,that they could easily have got recognition if only they had the b@lls to call his bluff.Next attempt a couple of years later it fizzled out MAINLY because the bods were so disillusioned at how they felt sold out the previous time around. There are rumblings in the jungle again, but. . . . well maybe this time ? somehow I doubt it, but we will see.

you.wish,
don't hold your breath " a commitment to look at " is 9/10 of naff all, is it not ? Good "shake of the hand behind closed door stuff" though. As usual !
