Pay question
After many years working in Canada, I have been approached about a (non-flying) job in the UK. I have no idea what the market is like there, and it seems the cost of living just keeps going up! I would like to know what a 40 something training pilot/base manager would earn in the UK, either aeroplanes or helis. Been away such a long time, I am totally out of touch with this.

I can't directly answer your question - however when somebody does, visit UK PAYE Income Tax Calculator 2011 salary calculator UK. Updated for 2011 / 2012 tax year. Calculate wages pension national insurance and student loan repayments online. to tell you what you will actually net from the provided gross salary.

Then work backwards:
Petrol @ £1.30 and above a litre,
Gas prices with 'British Gas' going up by a suggested 18% so all will follow.
Add all stealth tax.
Ask more what it is worth, not the salary mate ;-)
